About performance issues

Deadsiders, thanks for your patience!

We are aware that at the moment you are facing technical issues such as data non-saving at some servers, lags and other bugs.

We are working hard to allocate the source of these issues. Today we are planning to implement the feature, which will allow us to gather more info on strange servers behaviour and fix the problems ASAP.

Stay in touch.

Patch notes 0.1.1-5189

Hey Deadsiders we've just released another client hotfix that fixes two major problems:

Players with some-non alphanumeric symbols in their names can't connect to servers
Now the issue with # and ? should be resolved

New ping system
A lot of you are complaining about bad pings and slow ServerBrowser.
As we said we didn't expect so many of you jumping on your private servers simultaneously (thank you for that!), and this resulted in a lot of network requests from every client to every live server. I won't go into technical details about TCP and ICMP, but we accidentally made self-DDoS system.
So we dumped the old system and made a new one, which scales very well and is much more stable.

To get this hotfix you need to restart Steam client, which should then download Deadside update autmatically. Also it can be downloaded without restarting Steam, just exit the game and click "Verify integrity of local files" in the game's Properties window (to open it click RMB on the game in the library).

P.S. Also we have four more Brazil servers online!

Regarding g-portal and servers

First of all, thank you very much for your support, we really appreciate this.
We never expected such a huge demand for private servers in the first couple of hours after the release, and we must apologise for all you problems regarding servers. In no way this was g-portal's fault, because they were prepared to ship as many server as we told them to expect. They are working really hard to deliver all the servers, both private and official (right now they are deploying more Australia, Europe and Russia servers)

We dont't have an exclusive deal with g-portal or any other hoster, we will start integrating them as soon as most critical issues will be fixed. We are always open for you feedback and suggestions.

Thank you once again Deadsiders!

The early access release date

Deadsiders, amid all the gloom and doom with virus and quarantines, we have a really good news: we have the early access release date set. This glorious moment will come on April 14th at 11:00UTC (4:00AM PDT)!

Until then we'll be conducting last tests, working with localization and together with our partners at G-Portal configuring the server infrastructure so that you get the opportunity to rent a private server right after the early access release.

Take care of yourself and stay at home!
