Fat[EX] Courier Simulator - Devlog #61 "Package status?"

Hello Couriers!
Your package is the most important item - guard it with your all might!
State of the package your are delivering to your customers is very important. After all if it's completely tattered, dirty and whatever is inside seems to be broken no-one will accept that kind of parcel. Customers might file a complaint and the company that used your services might refuse to ever work with you again! Of course, sometimes bad things happen but if the start to happen repeatedly...

Take a look at the package above. Notice 4 colourful squares? In our game those will represent "lifepoints" of our package. Package might lose lifepoints whenever something dangerous happens to it. For example, if you have the idea to throw the package over the fence you cannot expect that it will stay in the completely same state it was before that fantastic thought came to your mind! Package might lose healthpoint in a variety of situations.

Now we're down to one last health point - we need to be extra careful with its delivery. Anything bad happens to it and it might turn ugly really quick. Make sure to handle the package very thoughtfully and carefully. Perhaps maybe deliver it by hand? If you put it in the storage area of your truck you still might risk that something will happen to it during the ride... ah, it's very problematic now!

However if you fail one more time... it's the screen above that you will have to meet in your playthrough. Losing 4 points means that package is in a state that is unacceptable and you simply need not to deliver it anymore - it will not be accepted anyway.

Let's try to avoid those kind of situations!

Fat[EX] Courier Simulator - Devlog #60 "New UI elements"

Hello Couriers!
In some of the screenshots we've posted previously you might have seen some of these but we have implemented new UI elements in the game!
Whenever you feel lost within the game and cannot find your garage the only thing you need to look for is a storage icon, as presented on the screenshot above. Thanks to it you'll always have the way to find where you should be going next in order to start a new courier mission. Your garage is almost your home so you instinctively know where it is located! Isn't that neat?

What is more we have redesigned the minimap to look more aesthetically pleasing to the eye. It has a nice round shape with orange glow and it shows all of the important incons for your convenience sake. It will also show where you need to go acting almost like a compass of sorts - covering all your most important navigational needs!

We've also prepared a special indicator for the boxes and parcels that are important for your current mission. This way you'll never mistake the packages and your customers will always leave you a 5 star rating for your work. A happy customer is a happy courier!

Notice also that after you enter the car you will be able to check your speedometer - to make sure you're not driving to fast make a habit of checking it periodically. If you have picked up your package and put it in the storage of your truck the indicator will also change and it will now show you the place you're supposed to go to - making your delivery so much more smooth.

Thank you for checking with us this week - take care!

Best regards,

Fat[EX] Courier Simulator - Devlog #59 "What is a courier without his truck?"

Hello Couriers!
We've noticed that we've never quite talked about your most important asset as a courier - your truck!
The truck is very important. You cannot underestimate the truck. Without a truck how would you be able to even do your job? Can you imagine running through entire city or to the suburbs? On your own leg? Or perhaps a little bit better but still unironically strange - by going there on a bus? No way! Your truck is your status symbol - you need to drive in order to feel complete as a delivery guy. You need to be proud of your truck. It's your greatest ally!

And your truck is great. It's quite fast - but not too fast so you won't get in trouble with Police. It's versatile, it can drive on almost any surface and it has quite a spacious storage space so you can take many packages with you at once and don't have to worry about coming back for extra deliveries. It also has those three interesting buttons on its side...

By pressing one of them the hatch will open and you will be able to load your truck. Just a press of a button - isn't that convenient? But wait, that's not all...

Two other buttons control the lift so you can load your packages in an easier way. You don't have to throw your deliveries and risk them become damaged - you can instead use the technology to make your life easier. And it's all thanks to truck.

Make sure to respect your truck - it does its best to help you!

Fat[EX] Courier Simulator - Devlog #58 "A little church in a big city"

Hello Couriers!
Some places in the city have this special aura that makes you want to visit them, just like that!
The city is full of memorable building and as you might remember from one of our past devlogs - there is also this special old church linked to one of the missions that you will have to go through. The church is quite old, it's not too big but it's somewhat special. The atmosphere of this whole place and the fact that it still exists and hasn't been consumed by the evergrowing city makes it easy to understand that it must be a part of a bigger story. Perhaps its operated by a very skillful priest or maybe citizens are too attached to it to let it be destroyed? Either way - church is here to stay.

Are there any quests here that I can take?! Oh, wait, it's not that kind of the game. But now that I think about it - how would you react if the game really gave you a quest by approaching a board like this one? That would be a neat surprise... On the other hand do you have any idea as for what kind of quest may you receive from this particular place? Let us know in the comments for this devlog, perhaps you'll inspire one of our quest writers or level designers...

This time we allowed ourselves to take a little look inside. Window at the top of the altar is impressive and the whole environment looks like something almost from a different game - didn't we say that this church is quite special?

Thanks for checking with us this week!

Fat[EX] Courier Simulator - Devlog #57 "Closed doors"

Hello Couriers!
There's nothing worse than arriving at your delivery address just to be met with closed doors!
It's frustrating, it's always a problem and the worst thing is you have to do something about it. Sure, you could just drive away and let your customer know that the package was not delivered but then you would have to make another round at a later time. Sometimes it paids off to get a little bit creative and try to make a way for yourself and safely deliver the goods.

Sometimes it's good to ask neighbours. Not all of them want to talk with you, many of them will try to avoid you or won't even get from the coach in their house to greet you but perhaps one of them might have some extra information that will let you slide the package in a particularly safe place. Or maybe they will just take the package off you? It's not the safest of all the choices but...

Creativity doesn't end there, however, perhaps you should climb a house and go through the chimney - as Santa Claus would? Or check if all the windows are closed? Well, whatever you do - please don't make yourself look like criminal - that would bring another set of problems to you...

And what would you do if you were to be in this kind of situation?
