Dev Diary #5 - Infested Depths Update
Greetings, Yotunz!
Infested Depths update is here and along with it comes a set of new Mutantz Enemies. Heaver, Parasyte, and Stroller will attack you on your journey through two new levels of Durnar, making it even more challenging to survive in the depths.

To help you out in these dangerous surroundings, we added a new Symbiont - Switch Hammer that can be transformed into either a heavy Hammer or a swift Sword. New Mutation - Furious Stance will temporarily boost your stats and damage output to make tough encounters more manageable. Along with new Levels of Durnar, a tier of Symbionts and Armors will be now available to find and craft - Plague. With these tools you will surely be able to conquer the Infested Depths!

Yotun’s Village got a new NPC - Spawner. We have changed the order in which you unlock new NPCs a bit and Spawner is now the first unlocked NPC, available to you from the very beginning of the game. We also moved some of the crucial Upgrades to Spawner, like unlocking additional Hotbar Slots or Inventory Slots to make them more accessible. In addition, Spawner lets you Reroll Yotun Seeds and improve overall stats of your randomly generated Warriors.

We have also added a new Mechanic to Dungeons - Yotunz’ Graves. Now you will be able to find bodies of fallen Yotunz from your previous runs in the Dungeons and retrieve Equipment that those specific Yotunz had at the time of their demise. But be careful, the Graves are guarded by Champions - a new enemy tier that is stronger than regular types and a bit weaker than Elites. Each Champion has a Trait that affects its Stats and Abilities. For example, the Caster Trait causes enemies to spawn a Homing Projectile every 10 seconds. Will you risk facing Champions to retrieve Equipment of your Fallen Yotun Warriors? Let us know in the comments or join the discussion on our Discord Server.

Explore the Infested Depths in the new Update
Yotunz!
The seventh Early Access update is here to test your combat skills in the Infested Depths. Equip yourself with a new weapon, skill, mask, and new armor to fight hordes of new Mutant enemies. What are you waiting for, Yotun?

[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]

Check out the full changelog below.
New Mutation: Furious Stance
Any name that starts with “Furious” is going to spell trouble for somebody. Use this mutation to make your attacks even deadlier and generally become more powerful. The exact characteristics that get a boost will depend on the elemental type of the Furious Stance.

Without pain, without sacrifice, trolls would have nothing - Shaman Vordagg
New Symbiont: Switch Hammer (Toughness)
After using the Switch Hammer, we think you’ll agree that sometimes extreme blunt force trauma is the best way to settle an argument. When slicing, stabbing, and burning just doesn’t get the job done, put the Switch Hammer to work and see how quickly the problem solves itself.

My soul is like flesh rended by a machine, like a machine consumed by flesh - Gobbok
New NPC: Spawner
Located on the ground floor of the village, Spawner will allow you to spend your precious Veri on passive perks that will help you survive longer in the depths of Durnar.
Spawner Upgrades
• Hotbar - Unlocks a new Hotbar Slot
 • More Slots - Increases the amount of Yotun Seeds
 • Retrolling - Unlocks Yotun Seeds reroll
 • Stay Positive - There is always at least one Yotun with a Positive Trait, regardless of the level of Godz Mood
 • Superior Interior - Increases the number of Inventory slots
 • Weapon Prof - Max weapon Proficiency increases
 • Tough Yotuns - Increases base Toughness
 • Strong Yotuns - Increases base Strength
 • Focused Yotuns - Increases base Focus
New Enemy: Stroller
Don’t let the name fool you, there’s nothing casual or relaxed about this enemy from the deep forest. And while he may be a bit slow and lumbering, all he needs is for you to get within striking distance of his whip-like tongue to make you seriously reconsider your decision to take him on.
New Enemy: Parasyte
Part of Parasyte’s strategy seems to be distracting and confusing opponents with his bizarre anatomy but don’t fall into that trap. Instead, worry about the massive claw coming straight at your head at lightning speed and think about how you can break down his defense before he breaks through your skull.
New Enemy: Heaver
Distance attacks with flames might not be fair but Mother Nature doesn’t care what you think. Dodge Heaver’s red balls of pain and look for an opening to slash his legs a few times before rolling out again. Careful, though—he can cut you down at close distance too.
Features:
• New Mutation: Furious Stance
 • New Symbiont: Switch Hammer
 • Probe: scans surroundings for treasures
 • New Symbiont & Armor Tier: Plague
 • New Plague enemies: Stroller, Parasyte, Heaver
 • New NPC: Spawner
 • New Quest: Unstable Vaulting
 • New Quest: See-Saw
 • New dungeon floors in the third setting
 • New Mask in Mask Entity NPC: Miner Mask
 • New Trait (positive): Motivated - Complete 16 events to get it
 • New Trait (negative): Troll in the Fog - Use portal more than 6 times at a single floor
 • And more!

Dev Diary #4 - The Frosty Update
Greetings, Yotunz!
A holiday update is here and it introduces a new event NPC - Frosty. Frosty offers special gifts in exchange for Candies. Candies can be obtained by defeating enemies with Snowballs - Event Usable Items that drop from the Snowmen of Durnar. A Snowball's damage is quite low, so a player will need to weaken an Enemy before trying to finish it off with a Snowball. Additionally Frosty offers the player a special Trait, Holiday Spirit. This trait doubles the amount of Snowballs dropped by Snowmen and increases their damage by 33% making it much easier to defeat enemies with Snowballs and collect their Candies.

Another big feature of the Frosty Update is Father Tree Modifiers. They offer a set of different Run Modifiers that make Arboria much harder. For example, they can increase an enemy’s health and damage, increase the damage of Traps, reduce the Yotun’s health, disable healing in the Lock Room, disable Mutagens, and much more. Using Run Modifiers adds a Veri Multiplier for any collected Veri. This allows experienced players to make their Run harder but gather much more Veri in exchange. By gathering Veri with Modifiers, the player increases the Father Tree’s level, which in turn unlocks new Modifiers.

We’ve also added a completely new Intro to the game which explains the story of the Yotun’s Tribe and explains the cause of Gobbok’s journey into Durnar which you experienced through the Tutorial.

Additionally another set of 18 new Mutagens was added to the batch, increasing the total to 90 different Mutagens. Examples of the new Mutagens are as follows: Place Totems after using Bongo, Mutation Power will be added to Symbiont Damage, Rolling will increase Damage of both Mutation and Symbiont, and Mutation attacks while the Player has over 90% of Max Mana will deal additional Damage. We hope that new crazy builds will emerge thanks to these.

Some aspects of gameplay will also be better explained through a new set of Loading Screen Tips. One of the prime examples is Perfect Dash, which is often referenced by some of the Mutagens.

Finally, in this Update we have added Voice Lines for Rata - your fairy companion. Rata will warn you about traps, enemies, notify you when your health gets low, and cheer you on during Events. We hope you will enjoy her new, more talkative version.
