January Update

Happy 2018 everyone!

My-oh-my, how time flies when you're having all kinds of fun! We were so busy doing other stuff that we kind of slipped out of the habit of doing these updates regularly. Oh well. That's how it is sometimes. You can't do everything you want.

Anyway, we just pushed a small update live in order to address an issue some people are having with the game always being on top of other applications. Just hit the 'B' key. That should minimize the game down to the task bar.

UPDATE: I changed it to the 'B' key in order to avoid a key conflict. Sorry about the fuss.

Don't be shy if you see something strange or buggy in the game.

Cheers,

October Update

Hello!

Even though we've mostly moved on to other projects, we're still going to go back and tweak and fix The Dream Machine whenever we feel like it. That's just how we roll. None of this months changes introduces anything new, but even though they're all fairly minor tweaks they all add up in the fullness of time.

We're keeping our other projects under wraps for now, but expect more announcements in the not too distant future.

Anyway, here's the contents of the latest patch:

• Game: Tweaked UI
• Chapter 3 & 6: Fixed bottom bunk bug in cabin 2
• Chapter 5: Edited the pumpkin dialogue
• Chapter 6: Tweaked sound design
• Chapter 6: Removed kitchen interactions
• Chapter 6: Tweaked fishing Victor dialogue
• Chapter 6: Tweaked crib Victor dialogue
• Chapter 6: Added interactions
• Chapter 6: Tweaked interactions
• Chapter 6: Improved lake performance
• Demo: Updated demo

Don't be shy if you see something strange or buggy in the game.

September Update

Mellow greetings!

We just released an update for the game in order to fix some problems people have been reporting. Nothing major. Just small tweaks.

The biggest change is that I made the helmets work both ways. It's mostly a convenience tweak. Working out who should wear which helmet was a bit of a stumbling block for most people, so I just made them work interchangeably. That's how I roll, people!

UPDATE: I made a slight modification to my previous rule change. The player now has to solve the helmet puzzle correctly in Chapter 2. But from then on the helmets can be used interchangeably. You might see this as the game breaking its own logic, but I see it more as the game editing out content the player has already seen. Since the player has already proved he/she knows how to use the helmets twice, there's no reason for them to solve that puzzle again and again and again after that. The game presumes what they want to do, and gets on with it.

Anyway, here's the contents of the latest patch:

• Engine: Fixed bug in task manager
• Game: Tweaked UI
• Chapter 4, 5 & 6: Made the helmets work interchangeably
• Chapter 4: Added dialogue
• Chapter 1, 2, 4 & 6: Fixed typos

Don't be shy if you see something strange or buggy in the game.
