Among Us imposter guide

Welcome. You have been chosen as an impostor. Yes, that's the actual spelling, impostor with an o. Don't look at the headline, we did that because people can't spell. Anyway, we've watched you scuttling around that shoddy spaceship, performing all those mundane tasks; taking out garbage and watering plants. No more. You are destined for something greater. You're smarter than all of those fools you hang around with in the canteen. Yes, especially blue. Did you know they are all incredibly easy to kill? That's right. Running around like soft little sausages with hats on. Time to bring about their demise, using this Among Us impostor guide.

Your mission is simple; you must take over the outpost before the crewmates complete their tasks. You may have one or two teammates, or this mission could be yours alone. Either way, the moment crewmates no longer outnumber the impostors, victory is yours. Or if you can pull off sabotaging crucial systems like the reactor or oxygen, and those dumb little potatoes can't waddle over there before the timer runs out, you win. Hooray. You're the smartest.

Alas, unless you've already whittled their numbers down, it probably won't be so easy. They're all playing a social deduction game, trying their best to figure out who could be cutting them down in the corridors. They will be hitting that emergency button and reporting bodies, calling meetings and throwing suspects out of the airlock. It'll take strategy and skill to throw them off your scent - to help you out, we've prepared an Among Us impostor guide. We have compiled six impostor tips for you. The first letter of each tip spells ASSASSIN, by the way. This happened organically.

Among Us Guide: tips to winning as Crewmates

Is there anyone not playing Among Us right now? The Among Us player count peaked at almost 400,000 concurrent players in the past 30 days on Steam. In April this year, the monthly peak did not even reach 1.000. With so many new players, there is a serious need of guidance. Don't worry; we're here to help you win the Crewmate with our first Among Us guide on being the best darn detective you can (and probably losing some friends in the process).

Among Us is a multiplayer game played by groups of 4 to 10 people. Most of the players are Crewmates, but 1 to 3 of them (depending on the game settings and player count) are Imposters. The Crewmates have to figure out who the Imposters are and vote them out, while the Imposters try to sabotage and kill as many Crewmates as possible - until the numbers are so low the Imposters can't be voted out.

In theory, your job as a Crewmate is simple: try to avoid getting killed, fill up the task bar and find out who is murdering your team. As it turns out in practice, however, it's not that easy. Good Crewmates have to be perceptive, mistrustful, communicative and knowledgeable about the game. The following Crewmate tips will show you how to do that. Oh, and if you're having fun with the game then why not check out some of the many other games like Among Us so you can stress-test those friendships all over again.

The Future of Among Us

Hey everyone, PuffballsUnited here! It’s been a very exciting time for us the past few months! We’ve absolutely loved seeing everyone enjoying Among Us! Forte has been working hard to get the servers adjusted to deal with the huge influx of players. Thank you so much for bearing with us through these growing pains. Hopefully we can get started on new content soon! Speaking of new content…

Us devs have had several long discussions about what we want to do with the game. When do we stop working on Among Us 1? What content goes into Among Us 2? The main reason we are shooting for a sequel is because the codebase of Among Us 1 is so outdated and not built to support adding so much new content. However, seeing how many people are enjoying Among Us 1 really makes us want to be able to support the game and take it to the next level. We have decided to cancel Among Us 2 and instead put all our focus into improving Among Us 1. All of the content we had planned for Among Us 2 will instead go into Among Us 1. This is probably the more difficult choice because it means going deep into the core code of the game and reworking several parts of it. We have lots of things planned and we’re excited to bring new content to everyone as you continue to enjoy playing!

Here’s some things that are coming on the horizon:

* Servers. Forte is still working very hard to figure out our server issues. We don’t have an ETA but things should hopefully be getting better and better. This is taking up all development time on his end.

* Colorblind support. It’s something we’ve put off for way too long… We plan on adding other identifiers for players as well as certain color focused tasks (Like wires). This should also open the potential for more colors. In the past we couldn’t add more colors because it became too difficult to tell players apart.

* Friends/Account System. This is something we’ve wanted to do for a long time but just haven’t been able to tackle. For the health of the game going forward we’re going to sink our teeth in and figure it out! This one will definitely take some time.

* A new stage! It is still very early and we have only just begun designing the layout. The theme has been settled on though! The next stage in Among Us is going to be a Henry Stickmin themed location!

We have LOTS of other things planned too, we just need to prioritize and organize all our plans. Stay tuned!
