The Gunk, Among Us and Mortal Kombat 11 are the last Game Pass additions of the year

If there’s one thing that’s defined Xbox this console generation so far, it’s Game Pass. Unsurprisingly then, Microsoft is looking to end 2021 on a high note, bringing 11 new games to its subscription service this week. Headlined by day one Xbox exclusive release, The Gunk, this final offering of the year sees The Gunk joined by Among Us on cloud, Mortal Kombat 11 and Broken Age – to name but a few.

While Game Pass has its fair share of AAA titles, this month’s additions are mostly indie classics, from Firewatch, and Lake to Broken Age. Paw Patrol, and Transformers: Battlegrounds - well, we guess they can’t all be winners, can they?

The full list of new additions arriving today and tomorrow are as follows:

  • Among Us (Cloud).

  • Ben 10: Power Trip.

  • Broken Age.

  • Firewatch.

  • The Gunk.

  • Lake.

  • Mortal Kombat 11.

  • Paw Patrol: Mighty Pups Save Adventure Bay.

  • Race With Ryan.

  • Transformers: Battlegrounds.

  • With the exception of Among Us, all of these titles will be arriving to Game Pass for Cloud, PC and Xbox.

While Microsoft has been keeping its Game Pass subscriber numbers a closely guarded secret, there’s no doubt that the service is winning the hearts (and wallets) of gamers. It’s a fact that hasn’t seemed to go unnoticed by the competition, with Sony rumoured to be working on an all-new subscription service of its own.

Among Us is out on Xbox and PlayStation, and there's cross-play with PC

There's a patch out today for the hit social deduction game Among Us, but the big news is that Among Us is now out on Xbox and PlayStation, which in turn means that thanks to the magic of cross-play, you can now play Among Us with your console-owning pals.

Developer Innersloth hasn't published new patch notes for the update, which weighs in at around 147 MB on Steam. But with today's launch of the Xbox and PlayStation versions of Among Us, both of which support cross-play, it's sensible to assume the existing versions needed some adjustments to make linking up with players on newly added platforms possible.

The last major patch for Among Us landed last month, and it introduced two new crew roles, the Engineer and Scientist, as well as a new shapeshifter role for imposters. That patch also added Among Us' new cosmetics shop and 'Cosmicube' system, which lets players buy or earn sets of unlockable cosmetic items to customise their crewmember's look.

The Among Us x Arcane Cosmicube!

Crewmates!

Dress up and play as your favorite Arcane character in Among Us’ first ever Cosmicube partnership, out now on all platforms through December 31, 2021!

We’re so excited to have worked with Riot for an official collaboration to celebrate the launch of their first animated series, Arcane! You’ll see some fan favorite champions, hats, and skins from the League of Legends franchise, including Heimerdinger, Jayce, and Caitlyn. Oh! And Heimerdinger’s absolutely adorable Poro pet. Check out the full list of cosmetics in the game!

Much like your ability to survive as a Crewmate, all good things must come to an end. The Arcane Cosmicube will only be available from now through Dec 31, 2021 before it disappears from our store. However, once you purchase the Cosmicube, the ability to unlock the cosmetics and items inside it will be yours forever.

All cosmetics are purely visual and do not have any effect on gameplay or gameplay options! This is purely for your eyeballs (or visor?) to enjoy. Don’t forget to activate the Cosmicube once you redeem it in order to start earning Pods to unlock the contents. You can activate the Cosmicube via the Crewmate button on the front page, or in the game lobby. You can purchase the Cosmicube on the Store by pressing the "$" sign in the game.

The fact we’re partnering with Arcane is wildly exciting for us, and we hope you love all the cosmetics in the game. Not bad for our first-ever collaboration, huh? There’s a ton to get hyped for in the future.

Can’t wait to see all those Poro pets running around!

Cheers,

Victoria

Among Us is definitely getting a League of Legends Arcane crossover

November 10, 2021 Innersloth has officially announced the arrival of League of Legends champion cosmetics in the Among Us in-game store.

Riot Games is teasing a crossover between League of Legends and Among Us. The developer's new RiotX Arcane Progress Days trailer features a shot of some Among Us crewmates tootling around in LoL-inspired duds. One crewmate we see is dressed as an enforcer from the Arcane show's Piltover city, while the other looks like League of League's inventor Heimerdinger.

If you've been out of the loop, Riot has been celebrating the launch of the Arcane Netflix show with various crossovers with games like Fortnite and PUBG alongside in-game events for League of Legends. Progress Days is the next one, and it's themed around an in-show holiday that sees the people of Piltover celebrate all things tech.

Today, Innersloth tweeted confirmation of the crossover, showing an Enforcer and 'Heimer' crewmembers near the cockpit, wearing champion-inspired visors and other knickknacks. The cosmetics will be available via the Arcade Cosmicube, which is due out November 12.
