The latest Among Us patch fixes a number of pesky minigame bugs

Do you like bug fixes? Do you like social deduction games? If so, you'll love the latest Among Us patch (well, want to know about, anyhow). Yes, we know there isn't much to talk about with this update, but the devs promise we'll be hearing much more at The Game Awards next month. We can expect to see an official trailer for the new map, and, dare we say it, maybe even a release date.

In a new blog post, Innersloth's new community director has given fans a sneak preview of what's coming to Among Us. The first thing on the dev's list of priorities is sorting out an account system for all players. Not only will this make it easier to add random people as friends when playing public games, it'll help to weed out any toxic players. Among Us currently has no way to report disruptive players, but it looks like Innersloth is fully aware of this and will be taking action as soon as possible.

Innersloth is also trying to get the game localised for different regions so that everyone can enjoy the game. Right now, the plan is to add support for these languages: French, Italian, German, Spanish EU and LA, Dutch, Russian, BR and EU Portuguese, Japanese, Korean, and Filipino (Bisaya).

Among Us devs show new map, tease Game Awards announcement

Among Us was the seventh-biggest game of the quarter

Fixes and a peek at the new map 🗺️

Hey all, Victoria here! As a quick introduction, I’m the new Community Director at Innersloth (bringing us to a grand total of 4 people on the team), which means you’ll probably be hearing from me a lot more from now on.

December is shaping up to be an extremely busy month getting a bunch of things to you. So let’s dive right into the dev log for v2020.11.17!
Fun news
• Awards. We’re nominated for TWO awards for The Game Awards – Best Multiplayer and Best Mobile Game. We’re seriously all blown away by everyone who has gathered around our game and are honored to even be nominated. You can vote for us to win here.
 • New map peek. We launched an official Among Us Twitter with a sneak peek at the new map! Give it a follow if you want to hear the latest, but we’ll be sure to keep our community updated wherever they are.
 • Merch. The official Among Us merch store has launched! Now you can sabotag—er, I mean, fix spaceships in true crewmate style.
Balance changes
• Comms sabotage hides task arrows
 • Comms red light no longer immediately responds to the correct position
Bug fixes
• Fixed camera flinging on security cams
 • Fixed inaccurate admin table on Polus
 • Fixed Polus panels reachable through walls
 • Fix solo-complete reactor/seismic exploit
 • Fix align engine exploit and softlock
What’s coming up?
• Accounts. One of our biggest priorities has been to get our account system nailed down and in line with privacy policies. The first focus for accounts will be to get reporting and moderation integrated ASAP. We want our game and communities to be welcoming, respectful places, so this will be a first step in tackling the toxicity and hacking. Thank you for being excellent to each other in the meantime! If you have any issues, you can send reports to [email protected].
 • Languages. We’ve been getting the game localized so Among Us can be enjoyed anywhere! Currently, the plan will be to get these languages in: French, Italian, German, Spanish EU and LA, Dutch, Russian, BR and EU Portuguese, Japanese, Korean, Filipino (Bisaya). There will be more to come, but as we said, accounts first!

Whew, did you read all that? Good, because you’ll be tested on it in the next dev log (joking). There’s going to be quite a bit of news in December, so make sure you keep an eye out on our Twitter or Discord!

And, as always, thank you for all of the support.

Among Us teases a sleek new map

Is the Among Us community about to get a new favourite map to replace the Skeld? Quite possibly, as developer InnerSloth has teased a new map for the game - and everyone is understandably quite excited.

The teaser itself leaves much to the imagination, but shows a shiny new cockpit with an all-important vent in the middle. InnerSloth plans on revealing more at the Game Awards, which takes place on 10th December (or in the early hours of 11th December, for those in the UK).

Plans for the map were announced back in September, when InnerSloth detailed a Henry Stickmin-themed location in its blog post discussing future plans (Henry Stickmin is another game series created by InnerSloth co-founder Marcus "PuffballsUnited" Bromander, by the way). We also know the map is supposed to be bigger than Polus, with "plenty of new tasks," and will be free for all players.

Innersloth reveals sneak peek of the new Among Us map

Among Us developer Innersloth has just revealed the social deduction game's latest map via its shiny new Twitter account. "Get all the news, peeks, and fun shenanigans here and become a part of the crew", says the account's first-ever post.

While the attached pic doesn't give away a great deal regarding the new map's overall layout, Innersloth has teased that more info will land at The Game Awards on December 10. The game itself has been nominated in the 'Best Multiplayer' and 'Best Mobile Game' categories.

What we can see so far in the small teaser is a nice, bright cockpit boasting a very comfy-looking command chair. We also get a peek at some screens, which could potentially house new tasks, and even a very sus Imposter vent. This is now the fourth map for Innersloth's hugely popular multiplayer game. Each offers its own quirks, tasks, and design layouts to keep things fresh.
