Among Us' new map is The Airship

There's a new Among Us map on the way, and after a tiny teaser on social media, the developers have provided a bigger look at the new location, called The Airship, due to launch in early 2021. As the previous teaser suggested, the map looks to be based on the Toppat Airship from Innersloth's previous Henry Stickmin series.

The map is an ostentatious flying vessel, and looks like a floating cruise ship - load of luxury areas, red carpets, and massive kitchens. There are platforms you can ride between various locations, too. Of course, it's still Among Us - impostors will be popping out of vents and trying to secretly murder the rest of the unsuspecting crew.

The Game Awards is an annual showcase of both the year's best games and upcoming titles from publishers and developers across the industry. The evening promises news on everything from Among Us to the next Dragon Age game, and PCGamesN will be here to provide the biggest news as it happens.

Here's Valorant agents as Among Us crewmates

Cutesy redesigns of killer videogame characters are always good fun, but there's just something extra special about seeing battle-hardened badasses reimagined as Among Us crewmates. The latest game to get such a treatment is Riot's Valorant, whose roster has been redesigned by artist and Reddit user Novazan in the style of Innersloth's social deduction megahit.

It's impressive to see how well Novazan has captured each character's distinct look. Thanks to some smart, simple design decisions, they're all instantly recognisable while still fitting the Among Us aesthetic to a T. If you want more of where that came from, the game's subreddit is frankly bursting with impressive fan art, such as this "Japanese inspired" redesign that recently did numbers.

Among Us continues to be one of the most widely played and discussed games of the year, having amassed over 100 million watch hours on Twitch throughout October.

Among Us streamer of the moment and, perhaps more notably, US Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez could become a more prominent fixture on Twitch soon. During a recent livestream with the leader of Canada's New Democratic Party Jagmeet Singh and pals, AOC shared that she had an idea to host a more regular "Twitch show" where she plays a game with someone of interest and interviews them.

"I've been thinking about picking out a game, or learning a game if the person I'm interviewing is already very much into a game, and playing with them on a semi-regular basis," AOC says. "Perhaps a new person every week or every month."

Ocasio-Cortez also explains that the idea came after her first stream, as she wanted to do it again but didn't necessarily have the capacity to know who to stream with. Her first Among Us stream came back in October with fellow representative Ilhan Omar where she used the platform to encourage people to vote in the US Presidential Election. It brought in over 400,000 viewers.

The latest Among Us patch fixes a number of pesky minigame bugs

Do you like bug fixes? Do you like social deduction games? If so, you'll love the latest Among Us patch (well, want to know about, anyhow). Yes, we know there isn't much to talk about with this update, but the devs promise we'll be hearing much more at The Game Awards next month. We can expect to see an official trailer for the new map, and, dare we say it, maybe even a release date.

In a new blog post, Innersloth's new community director has given fans a sneak preview of what's coming to Among Us. The first thing on the dev's list of priorities is sorting out an account system for all players. Not only will this make it easier to add random people as friends when playing public games, it'll help to weed out any toxic players. Among Us currently has no way to report disruptive players, but it looks like Innersloth is fully aware of this and will be taking action as soon as possible.

Innersloth is also trying to get the game localised for different regions so that everyone can enjoy the game. Right now, the plan is to add support for these languages: French, Italian, German, Spanish EU and LA, Dutch, Russian, BR and EU Portuguese, Japanese, Korean, and Filipino (Bisaya).
