New Map Update! Kussnacht Day Map!

Hello everyone,

WarDust got an exciting update!

- Added Kussnacht Map, day version!
Kussnacht Reborn map is a completely reworked and remastered battlefield that brings you into an
Alpine village exploding with combat on 5 CPs.

- General optimization of game code
Many hours spent polishing the base game to increase performance.

- New destructible objects management system
Added proprietary system to handle the syncing of destructible items such as windows, fences, poles, etc.

- Added climbable trees.
All trees on Kussnacht map are climbable from the ground up.

War Dust has come so far in the last 10 months. The one-year anniversary of the relaunch of War Dust is coming soon. If you haven't played lately, come see what you are missing! The game has never looked and played so good.

Doors & Windows! Interactive Objects Update

Hello everyone,

The past month has seen many small performance and bug-fix updates, but also the addition of two types of interactive objects to War Dust gameplay! Windows which break when bullets or rockets hit them, and doors which are controlled in-game by pressing buttons or grabbing knobs on the interior or exterior of buildings. There are plans for more of these types of interactive objects in War Dust, so keep an eye out for more!


Changelog:

added breakable windows.
They are placed in various places in many maps, mostly where usually windows are 😄
To break windows you need to shoot it with your gun or with projectile (stinger, tank etc.)
Planned (no ETA) :
breaking by driving vehicle through it, by hand punch, by weapon itself hit, by throwable items. At the moment bots won't see you through it, it will be looked after as well at some stage.

Added interactive gates and doors on some maps.

How to use them :
- to open/close the gate touch corresponding red button with your controller. Each gate have 2 buttons on each side.
- you can't open/close the gate while it's opening/closing, you need to wait for the process to finish

-Added hundreds of interactive doors. There are 3 types, 2 wooden ones and 1 metal one. They are all rusty, rotten and squeaky 😉
To open the door just touch the handle with your controller, it will open itself. There is a little cooling time before you can close it or open it again (to be sure that all players received information over the network)
One thing to note : when opening the door you will be moved towards door opening direction for 1 second. This is the moment when you don't have control over your avatar.

Little announcement

Hello everyone !

It’s a new month!

Today all periodic leaderboards were wiped (I know, I'm couple days late)

As promised while back, all monthly winners will be able to get special parachute skin.
If you are a winner and you would like to get one for yourself, please contact me (Roundy) through DM on official discord or steam. I will need your in-game name and your steamID.
Currently there is only one special parachute skin, but it’s better than nothing right?
Also December leaderboards winners can pick up their parachute skin.

P.S.1 little friendly reminder.
If you want to help smash the bugs, please send me bug reports. Not many players do it and they are really helpful. It’s very easy. Just enable in the options 'send log by spacebar' and once you notice anything weird, press space bar on your keyboard and follow the instructions.

P.S.2 You might have noticed some little daily patches, no point to announce them, it's just me trying to fix some bugs here and there. Sometimes with the luck, sometimes without it.

Little update plus bug fixes

Hi everyone :)

- Fixed zombies bug (player’s avatar was staying on the map after player’s death)
- Couple tweaks on controller stuff, there were some random problems with gun slider recently
- Your landmines shouldn't explode when your team member steps on them (they will do if you step on them). Sometimes the landmine color is not right (blue, red), I will look at it another day.
- Avatars in spawn room should be invisible now (Except end game moment when we all land in spawn room, will do it another time if needed)
- Added animated wheels/landing gear to jets. Wheels will hide when a certain height is reached and vice versa. Currently without audio fx.
- Added global announcer that can be heard by all players in the map and can be triggered by @CustomMapsTeam (currently one voice over inviting to custom map event)
