A Change In The Weather
There are a couple of new changes that you may notice. The weather should look a little different with more spectacular sunsets. The water may look a little more tropical. There have been some environment tweaks and along with that come some performance improvements. You may notice some improvement on slower computers especially when playing two player.
Cape St Francis, the perfect wave in The Endless Summer is now what the lighthouse break is called, and there's a nice sign there near the dock to let you know where you are.
BEGINNERS - More Help is Built In...
Helper buttons are on by default. The main reason for this update was to turn on the helper buttons for beginners. Helper buttons are the interface on the screen that display to show you which buttons to use and what they do. They were not turning on by default at the start of the game. Now they should be on the screen to help, and can be turned off in the menu by pressing esc and going to the buttons option.
New Tutorial - Beginner Tips. Learn the easiest way to get started easily, and painlessly. Watch the beginner tips video. It will show you the basics of surfing, where to be on the wave, how to get speed, how best to use the buttons and to press the Y button, press the Y button, did I mention to press the Y button? Press the Y button, it makes life much easier.
The esc menu and start screen buttons have been improved and simplified to make that kind of stuff easier to use.
One more thing, change to goofyfoot in the choose a player menu. The place to change from right foot forward (goofyfoot) to left foot forward (regularfoot) has been changed so you can choose when you select a player. You may not have even known that this is an option because it was in the gameplay menu along with the help buttons. Now you can change it when you try a different player.
One more another thing uh...The camera will move when you walk down slopes on land. Before it would go into the land, but now it will move so you can see where you're going a little better.
