Get ready for two new factions to join the fray when the Riverfolk Expansion comes to Root on 4/27 for $9.99!

The Riverfolk Company and the Lizard Cult bring new strategic twists to the battle to rule the woodland, and three new vagabond variants add even more variety, leading to dozens of new player configurations!




The Riverfolk Company is open for business – the woodland may be at war, but there’s no reason you can’t make a profit! As other factions purchase services, the Riverfolk are able to further entrench their commercial interests by building trade posts across the forest. Establishing these posts is a viable way to score victory points, but so too are the dividends they might gain from their wealth.


Spread the scaly gospel of the Lizard Cult! Tend your gardens to radicalize new acolytes, and reveal the true extent of your proselytizing power. Taking a gentler approach to woodland domination, the Cult relies on word of mouth (and beak!) so new enclaves can spring up anywhere on the map. By building gardens in clearings they rule, the Cult can also attract pilgrims and further radicalize the animals that live there.


Three new Vagabonds skulk into the woodland to help you swindle your way to victory!

• The Scoundrel torches the woodland rather than see others rule it
  
• The Vagrant starts fights that others have to finish
  
• The Arbiter offers their services…for a price, of course!
  

New single-player scenarios and tutorials help you learn the wily ways of the latest woodland warriors!



The woodland is about to get wet and wild as the Riverfolk Expansion comes to Root on 4/27!

Patch 1.26.3 contains a handful of fixes and improvements to the overall performance and stability of Root. As always, we appreciate your feedback and support as we continue to make Root the best digital experience possible.

• Resolved visual issues impacting overlap on certain aspect ratios.
  
• Fixed an issue where Vagabond items refresh when Undo is used on a move into the Forest.
  
• Fixed an issue where Root may freeze when a Vagabond player is prompted to damage items from another player’s battle.
  
• Improved performance for Pass and Play mode:
  
  • Resolved an issue with post-battle freezing.
    
  • Resolved an issue where the match locks if Vagabond exhausts a track item to aid and acquire another copy of the same item.
    
• Damaging an item is no longer skippable when playing as Vagabond.
  
• Resolved an issue where a user may freeze after crafting a Favor card if Vagabond is hit by the effect.
  
• Destroying a unit with Tax Collector now updates the clearing correctly.
