THE BIG ANNOUNCEMENT - BARN FINDERS KICKSTARTER

Howdy!

It took us some time, but we are finally here. The day has come, and we would like to share with you what we’ve been working on for quite some time - we are launching a kickstarter campaign for the Barn Finders! Don’t be shy, you can find the link just right here:

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/playway/barn-finders

But wait, there is more!

Just for our backers, we prepared the early access to the demo version, so you can check for yourself what we prepared, and tell us what you think. The lowest pledge is just 9 CA$, so don’t miss it out! We can't wait for You to play it.

We are also hosting a dev stream right now (starting around 16:00 CET), if you want to talk to us, or watch us play the game, join us!

WHAT’S OUR GOAL?

For us, the campaign has multiple purposes. Here are some of them:

Funding the campaign will allow us to add 2 more maps to the game, which we’ve cut out of the scope for production reasons. So, from a total of 10 maps to visit we will increase the number to 12. And trust us, both Auntie Mary’s House and The Evil Swamp are super cool maps with some unique twists - you will love them.

We want to gather your feedback. For us it’s very important that Barn Finders meets your expectations and represents the best quality possible. To do that, we want your input about our game. Use the “SEND FEEDBACK” option in the game, to share thoughts, feedback, bugs or just something you liked. We promise to read all of it and we will try to address the issues if possible.

We want to share some Barn Finders love with the world. Tell your friends about the game if you liked it. Tell your parents, that lady in the grocery shop and the bus driver. Don’t tell Carlos. He already knows. Add the game to your wishlist, like us on Facebook, talk to us on Discord.

Stretch Goals. Over the production time, we had to cut a lot of cool ideas from the main game scope, so we could do everything on time. But we want to revisit those ideas and try to implement them by our stretch goals. For example, MIKKO’s Item Catalog, Clients selling items, a fully M.I.K.K.O’s Bid Wars Event Map, etc. We will talk about them with more details, soon.

So. This is it. Our adventure can finally begin. We hope you will enjoy Barn Finders as much as we do. Share with us what you think.

Cheers!

Devlog #3

Hey friends, we are still preparing the ground for our “Big Announcement” (having some dates, yeah!), so keep an eye for future updates.

How about talking about some game mechanics?

The Storage Station

Today we are going to talk about the amazing Storage Station, developed by M.I.K.K.O. tech experts.
Every player will have one Storage Station placed in their Pawnshop. This is the spot where you can drop and store collected stuff from the game maps.

Using The Storage Station

After arriving from an adventure, you will be able to take the stuff from the Barn Finders Truck to the Storage Station. But don't worry, if you are feeling too lazy to take the items one by one, you can call Uncle Billy for help.

After unloading the truck, players can check the status of each previous collected stuff by opening the Storage Station Menu. A list of all previous collected items will be shown. It should look like this:

What the heck are these icons?

Starting from left to right:

The “Stars Icon”
Here we have an example of a Job Quest Item: Butch, The Champion. The “Stars” means that this item cannot be sold to Pawnshop customers, because this Item already has a buyer. Usually, someone will write you an email, giving you the location to where this item can be found in Ameryka. So, Players must travel there, look for this specific item and bring it back to Barn Finders pawnshop. Then, Player will be able to pack and send the item, completing the Quest, winning some bucks.

The “Puzzle Icon”
The “puzzle icon” means that this item actually is a part of a set. For example here, the HellStorm Flamethrower Tanks. Which means that Player must find and assemble all item parts first, before selling it to clients. For that, Players must buy and build an Assembly Station to their Pawnshop.

The “Flies Icon”

Oh-Oh, something is Dirty. Clients don't like that and they are not going to buy any smelly and dirty treasures. For example, here we have a model of Shirley Love, which was found in Red Barn, a.k.a. Dwayne’s Love Nest. This item requires cleaning before selling it. Players can buy a Cleaning Station to wash and turn Dirty items to “Ready to Sell.”

No Icons!
No icons means that the item is Ready to Sell. For example here we have the crossbow The Honor, which is ready to be placed on a shelf, while waiting for a new lovely home.

The "Hammer Icon”
A “hammer icon” informs the Player that this item is currently Broken and cannot be sold before fixed. Then, Player must repair this item by spending resources such as Metal, Wood or Scraps. For that, they will need to buy and improve their Pawnshop by having a Repair Station.

Using the Storage Station to Place Items on Shelves

If some stuff is inside the Storage Station, Player can quickly place them on the Pawnshop shelves by one click. Easy right? But remember, it is only possible to do that with “Ready to Sell” items.

So that’s it for now. In a few days we are going to speak more about other mechanics and what you will be able to find inside the wacky universe of Barn Finders.

Thanks a lot for the attention guys, see you soon for more updates!
