Truck Mechanic: Dangerous Paths News

Greetings, Mechanics!

We are pleased to announce our plan to launch a playtest of Truck Mechanic: Dangerous Paths soon!
You can submit your application to participate in the playtest now!

Sign up and try the game before its release. While we are incredibly proud of how far Truck Mechanic: Dangerous Paths has come, more player input can help us make it even better with some last-minute tweaks. The playtest will include a portion of the game's full version, such as the tutorial showcasing core gameplay and mechanics.

How to Join

Access will be granted to randomly selected player groups. To join, simply sign up on the game's store page and click the green "Request Access" button. If selected, you will receive a notification via email linked to your Steam account. You can also check your application's status at any time on the game's Steam page.



Playtest Goals

Your voice matters, and you will be helping us make our title the best it can be. Every little bit of feedback helps! Together, we can shine the light on any standing issues and work out all the quirks, polishing the game up for the final release.

The playtest is not confidential, and you will not have to sign an NDA. You will be able to freely discuss the game and create content based on your gameplay experiences during this event.

❗ But do remember—what you will be playing is NOT the final version of the game! The playtest version will not contain everything planned to be included in the full version of the game. This means that additional mechanics and features, new locations, more exciting missions, and the full storyline will only be available after the official release.

The playtest's main goal is to more closely introduce you, the player, to our project and provide an opportunity to share your opinion of how the game plays in its current state.

Hello, Truck Mechanics!

Over the past month, our development team has been diligently working on several exciting features to enhance your gameplay experience. We are now thrilled to share the progress we made on Truck Mechanic: Dangerous Paths in 3 key areas: dynamic weather system, expanded truck customization options, and extra map work.

Dynamic Weather System

We have successfully implemented a dynamic weather system that will greatly enhance our title's realism and immersion. In-game meteorological conditions can now change from sunny and clear to rainy, windy, and even stormy. This will directly impact driving mechanics, providing more challenge and authenticity to how your vehicles handle. The unpredictable changes of weather will help make every playthrough unique, as well as keep players engaged and on their toes.



As was mentioned last time, the flashlight has been made an integral part of gameplay and will no longer be available as a separate item. It will also have two modes, allowing you to move around better and make repairs in the dark.



Truck Customization

Significant expansion of truck customization options was one of our primary areas of focus this month. We have introduced a wide range of new features, allowing players to personalize their trucks both in and out. These include various visual modifications, enhancing the vehicle's overall appearance. New levels of customization will not only strengthen the player's connection to their truck but also provides a deeper, more personalized gaming experience.



Extra Map Work

In addition to these features, we have also been developing new maps and expanding existing locations to enrich the game's world. Our team is focused on creating diverse and engaging environments that offer fresh challenges and opportunities for exploration. These new locales are designed to enhance immersion and provide players with a variety of landscapes and settings to discover. With each passing week, maps shall evolve and receive changes that will make wandering around a delight.

Welcome to another exciting developer update. We've got some news about the progress of Truck Mechanic: Dangerous Paths. Buckle up and get ready for the latest developments on this wild ride!

[h2] Desert Map [/h2]
We are pleased to announce the completion of our latest map set in a desert environment. In this map, players will assist with various tasks while helping archaeologists to uncover the history of an ancient civilization and help with desert reforestation. The new map features a range of challenges designed to engage and immerse. We put a lot of effort into its development, and we hope it will make quite an impression on you.



[h2] Fuel [/h2]
Today, we are introducing a new mechanic to enhance the strategic depth of our game: fuel management. Your trucks will no longer run indefinitely. Keeping an eye on your fuel levels and planning ahead will be essential to ensure you don't run out of fuel mid-route.

Scattered across each map are various refueling stations. You will need to locate and utilize these stations to keep your trucks fueled up and ready for the journey ahead. This adds a new layer of strategy to the game, as you must plan your routes not only for efficiency, but also to ensure you have enough fuel to reach your destination. Fuel involves additional costs, so it will be worthwhile to do additional paid work to balance costs and revenues.



[h2] The day and night cycle [/h2]
We have introduced the full implementation of the day and night cycle in our game. Following the preview in the prologue, this system features daytime followed by nighttime, bringing a dynamic and immersive experience. This new cycle affects visibility and gameplay, requiring players to adapt their strategies and plan their activities according to the time of day.

In order to facilitate gameplay, we plan to change the functionality of the flashlight and add it permanently to your inventory, in order to make it easier to find your way at night.



[h2] Additional Missions [/h2]
With all main missions completed, we have started adding extra tasks to the game. These additional challenges provide new objectives and gameplay opportunities, diversifying your experience with various activities and rewards.

Welcome to another developer post. We got some news about Truck Mechanic: Dangerous Paths development process.

[h2] Continued work on maps [/h2]
Our most important goal was to comprehensively prepare all the main tasks on the next two maps. As you might have already noticed in the prologue, our approach is quite unique, as most of the tasks, will not involve the truck itself. Your truck will break down as a result of its poor handling, driving on heavy terrain or just random crashes caused by, for example, excessive speed. The tasks are diverse and will be tied together by an interesting storyline.

Each map will have an architectural feature that will stand out strongly. For example, in a map with massive mines, there will be a giant excavator. On the next one, it will be already mentioned and shown gondola. We don't want to reveal everything, so that you can discover for yourself, and explore the rich world of Truck Mechanic: Dangerous Paths.



We have already mentioned this, but we want to highlight it very strongly again. The missions in the game will be diverse and all intertwined with a surprising storyline. We're putting a lot of work into making sure that at every point in the ride you enjoy what you encounter along the way and have a little conundrum about whether you're sure that shortcut you saw on the map is actually still passable and whether it's better to turn around and take a different route.



[h2] Bart conversations [/h2]
Besides, we have implemented another solid portion of dialogues, stuffed with reactions from Bart, who, while driving over the maps, comments on his decisions and tells a lot of interesting facts about various objects. We want the dialogues to build a unique atmosphere and the player to know that there is something interesting in the area that is worth checking out or exploring for finds.



[h2] Improvements to the UI[/h2]
We have updated the UI. All information, object icons their state - has been improved. All this is done to make the gameplay clear, transparent and inform accurately about all events. The changes, although subtle, will be noticeable, and will make the game just that much more enjoyable.
