Truck Mechanic: Dangerous Paths Dev Diary #79

Hello Truck Mechanics!

Welcome to more developer diaries dedicated to Truck Mechanic: Dangerous Paths. In the last post, we demonstrated the new simplified UI. In this, we are once again hitting the road to tell you more about the full version. Buckle up and let's hit the road.
South American ecosystem
As you already know, the South American ecosystem is very extensive. In the full version, you'll encounter dense jungles, desert terrain, mountain cliffs, bridges that aren't entirely safe, and quite a few shortcuts to get to your destination. Searching for the optimal path, will be an interesting experience, especially since you may encounter various terrain obstacles on the way.
What else is in store for me?
Open-pit mines, dried-up riverbeds, swamps, a series of dead ends and a wilderness so thick you can't see the world from it. And all seasoned with interesting interactions, story and progression quests.

We encourage you to actively comment and share your ideas with us. Remember that all the screenshots shown above are from a WIP build, they don’t reflect the final version of the game.

Truck Mechanic: Dangerous Paths Dev Diary #78

Hello Truck Mechanics!

Welcome to more developer diaries dedicated to Truck Mechanic: Dangerous Paths. Today we want to touch on the important topic of UI for you. We are considering which direction to go. Is it more minimalist, or on the foundations of the old one to update its appearance.
More or Less?
Which option is more accessible to you? An expansion of what you might have seen in the prologue - served up in a better way? Our idea is quite simple, for example, the mission objectives will be activated by a button so that when we want to completely sink into the game they don't take up unnecessary space on the screen. You will be able to activate them at any time, so that the panel will appear and disappear as you see fit. Or something more minimalistic based on simple, easy to read icons?
Our choice
Both options have their pros and cons. For the moment, we're betting on improving what you saw in the prologue. Improving by the ability to hide those complex panels, and making it more friendly to the players. It must be simple, readable and understandable. Convey specific information that will be needed during the tasks. On this occasion, we would like to know your opinions. Maybe you have some interesting suggestions? We would love to hear them!

We encourage you to actively comment and share your ideas with us. Remember that all the screenshots shown above are from a WIP build, they don’t reflect the final version of the game.

Truck Mechanic: Dangerous Paths Dev Diary 77

Hello Truck Mechanics!

Welcome! Sorry for the long break a lot has been going on over the past few months. We have been focusing on releasing the Prologue for our game called Space Mechanic Simulator. If you feel like checking it out we highly encourage you to do so!
What was happening in the project?
There was a lot going on! Work is progressing according to schedule. We are working at full speed on the full version. In the meantime, there is a new UI, an entire character progression system based on books and, of course, more exciting maps saturated with activities.

We are confident that the changes that have appeared in Truck will suit your needs. Once again, we have analyzed your submissions from the Prologue and are trying to improve those elements that you have pointed out. In particular, the tutorial, for which there will be a completely new map that will introduce you to all the ins and outs of the game in a very simple and intuitive way.

As always, we encourage you to actively comment and share your ideas with us. Remember that all the screenshots shown above are from a WIP build, they don’t reflect the final version of the game.

Truck Mechanic: Dangerous Paths Dev Diary #76

Hello Truck Mechanics!

Truck Mechanic: Dangerous Paths development diary number #76 is here. We have some information to share with you.
CB will have more options - cool, huh?
CB radio will be quite an important tool for you. It will allow you to call for emergency assistance, order missing parts or have the ability to report an obstacles on the road. Interestingly, CB will not always work. Transmitting stations in the middle of the jungle are not maintained too often and are susceptible to various damages. It may turn out that in one part of the map it will work and in the next there will be no signal. That's not all! We are preparing a few more surprises, which we will tell you about soon.
Our new maps are cool.
Today we would like to talk more about the maps you will be riding on. The diversity of the South American ecosystem makes much possible. You will have the opportunity to ride by a huge plantation, a big mine, dense jungle, treacherous swamps. All maps will be stuffed with additional activities, hidden places, interesting side quests and more. Unlike in the prologue, the truck won't break down every now and then, there will be fewer scripted events and it will be your driving that will have the ultimate impact on breakdowns.

As always, we encourage you to actively comment and share your ideas with us. Remember that all the screenshots shown above are from a WIP build, they don’t reflect the final version of the game.

Truck Mechanic: Dangerous Paths Dev Diary #75

Hello Truck Mechanics!

Truck Mechanic: Dangerous Paths development diary number #75 is here. We have some information to share with you. Weeks go by faster and faster with each passing week the game looks more complete.
In recent weeks, we have been working on the implementation of NPCs. Yes there will be NPCs in the game, which will diversify the gameplay with various activities. Among other things, additional tasks, valuable tips or funny jokes.

We are also not idle in matters of interaction adding more and more capabilities. We have updated the old ones, so planks will finally find additional uses for repairs. With a hammer you will be able to smash boulders lying on the road, and with a machete you will be able to cut through dense thickets.

As always, we encourage you to actively comment and share your ideas with us. Remember that all the screenshots shown above are from a WIP build, they don’t reflect the final version of the game.
