We are back with some new information, about Truck Mechanic: Dangerous Paths in our next Dev Diary #46. We have a few things we would like to share with you.



In recent weeks, we have been focusing on improving the tutorial of the upcoming prologue. It must be simple and deliver the necessary know-how so that you fully understand all the mechanics at hand and how to perform basic repairs with the tools at disposal.



We are also polishing the mechanic mode, improving the camera movement, adding new features and calibrating old ones. All this to make the enjoyment of performing repairs at a really high level. We've added some new UI elements, and are improving old ones.

We spent the last weeks implementing elements that improve the quality of life, such as the number of planks on the truck. There will be many more, and they will make the game even more enjoyable for you.



With the implementation of the character development system, we have prepared some needed changes to the interface that will adapt it to the new elements. We've changed the controls with better keybindings, and we've significantly improved the camera settings in mechanic mode so that it's easier to center the view on individual parts.

After months of hard work, we managed to finish one of the most important elements of our game - the engine. As we have mentioned many times before, realism and detail were very important to us. In the end, we managed to prepare a whole consisting of hundreds of parts. You'll be able to take everything apart and check it out. We can't wait for you to throw yourself into making various engine repairs.



Work on both the prologue and the full version continues. We are constantly working on improving what we have and adding new elements.

Recent weeks have resulted in another solid portion of bug fixes and optimization. With more changes being made to the map, some major performance improvement work had to be done. In our opinion, the work was worth it. We assure you that Truck Mechanic: Dangerous Paths will run well even on medium-class hardware.



While exploring the wilderness, it is worth taking a good look around and sometimes play the role of an explorer. The wrecks of those who have not followed the basic rules of safe driving may turn out to be a vein of gold for you, containing some spare parts you so desperately need.

As we announced with the last post, we have started updating all the paths. What you see in the screenshots above is just the beginning of our road on that topic, the current state does not reflect what will appear in the full version.



Above, a perfect example of what we want to achieve. Potholes from now on will be a real problem. It's up to you to overcome them.



That's not all! Thanks to your feedback, we have started to gently rework the mechanic mode to make it more realistic. What has changed? The fact that most metal things from now on are repaired on the anvil and then assembled on the workbench.
