Cook, Serve, Delicious series on Steam Deck!

Happy Steam Deck launch week everyone! I have to say, after a few weeks with my Steam Deck dev kit it's been a wonderful way to close out my evenings with some light gamin' with some of my favorite Steam games like Vampire Survivors and Super Auto Pets. But of course getting a Deck early helped us ensure our games, and most importantly, future games, will be fully Deck compatible!

So what does this mean exactly? Going forward, all of our Steam releases will have 16:10 support, increased save checkpointing (in case you need to jump out of a game for any reason), better text compatibility so that the UI is clear, clean and easy to read on the Deck's screen, and further optimizations!

Here is a list of our currently released games, and the best ways to play them:

  • Cook, Serve, Delicious!- runs great, however the text is a little on the small side and therefore cannot be verified. We will take steps going forward that text is in a much larger and cleaner font.
  • Cook, Serve, Delicious! 3?!- runs great, but due to some keyboard command text badges is not verified just yet. We're working with YoYo Games right now to get an updated build by the summer that will remove these icons and text.
  • Cook, Serve, Delicious! 2!!- This does not currently run without opting into Proton. This is due to a legacy Linux bug that prevents gamepad input. Again we're working with YoYo Games to release an updated Linux build sometime soon, but until then, simply go to the game's Properties in the Steam Deck UI, and force Proton compatibility by selecting the most recent stable release of Proton. This forces the game to run the Windows version, which works great.
  • ChefSquad- due to the nature of this game requiring Twitch, the game is not playable on the Deck.
  • Legacy Titles- games like The Oil Blue, ShellBlast, etc. do not have gamepad support and rely on certain keyboard letters and mouse to navigate. So while a majority of them run, you'll need to remap a lot of the controls to make it fully compatible.

I'm so looking forward to seeing our next big game on Deck, fully supported on day one, and let me tell yah, it's gonna look gorgeous on this thing holy cow. Be sure to follow us on our new secret Twitter account we haven't used or announced yet (don't tell anyone!!) for our new game announcement, coming soon!!

CSD 3 Wins at the IndieCade Awards, New Game Release!

It's been a crazy week here at VGInc., as we just won the Best Audio category by IndieCade for Cook, Serve, Delicious! 3?!

We're so honored to have won this award and it's probably the first major award I've personally even won for one of my projects, and all thanks goes to Jonathan Geer for the amazing soundtrack and Jeff Ball for the audio design! Well done y'all!

Don't forget to pick up the AWARD WINNING SOUNDTRACK on Steam!!

And for our other big news- ChefSquad is our brand new Twitch only game and it's available now!!

[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]

This is an all new experimental game we've been working on with our off time in the last year, and we're so excited to release it for FREE for all Twitch streamers, as this is a game that requires community involvement! But how does it work? Here's the breakdown!

[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]

If the game gets popular enough we may look into future new additions to the game, but at the very least you can expect to see some kind of Twitch integration for our future projects. Check it out:

Of course this game is very much an experiment, as we are hard at work on our more traditional large scale single player game! Hopefully we'll be able to share more news in the near future, but for now we hope you enjoy this unique little release (whether that's streaming the game or playing it with one of your favorite content creators!). Take care,

Play Cook, Serve, Delicious! 3?! In Co-Op Online?!

Some say couch co-op games are dead. We disagree wholeheartedly! We've always felt that couch co-op and playing with your friends in person is a cornerstone in gaming. However, as things are constantly changing, situations and circumstances change. You can't always bring a friend over to play on the couch. Steam brought us the Remote Play Together Feature to solve this issue and now it's entering a new phase. You can now grab a link directly from your friend's list and send it to anyone to join your game! Anyone can join through Steam, or the Steam Link App. You can finally invite Aunt Betty to help you sear some steaks, chop some calamari, or dunk some doughnuts in Cook, Serve, Delicious! 3! right from the comfort of her own home!

Cook, Serve, Delicious! 3?! celebrates further advancements in Steam's Remote Play Together service, and welcomes the Invite Anyone Feature! Join the Cook, Serve, Delicious! 3?! product manager, steamer, and food delivery app savant Cupogoodness and Hit YouTube sensation, fledgling voice actor, and survival of recent dental surgery Bumpy McSquigums as they dive in and put their co-operative chef hats on with some international Remote Play Together Co-Op Action!

Vote for us in the Steam Awards! Woo!

Thank you all for the support as we released CSD 3 during EA during this year! With the Steam Awards going on I just wanted to say thank you to anyone who has nominated us for an award...but what I'd really like to push for is the Best Soundtrack award, which is so deserved by the composer, Jonathan Geer. He deserves all of the awards in fact!

CSD and all of our games on Steam are currently on sale right now, so be sure to pick them up! Thanks everyone and hope all of y'all are well! ːcsd2smileː

CSD 3 for Mac Now Available!

First off, thank y'all for all of your patience! We're proud to announce that CSD 3 is now available for Mac! Before installing be sure to read about the two different builds we're offering today:

-For full compatibility, the default Mac version available for install will work great across all Mac platforms. It is the DRM free version, but has limited Steam features (only Trading Cards and Steam Overlay support).

-We also have a fully compatible Steam version that has the full Steam featureset and runs on an improved version of the engine. We opted not to make this the default as it requires the user to delete the current Mac build of the game before installing. To select this version: first, delete any CSD 3 install you currently have on Mac. Next, right click on CSD 3 in Steam and go to Properties. Then go to the Betas tab and select the mac_steam branch. It will download the new version and you should be set to go! If you have any issues with this version, please let us know, and you can always roll back to the standard install (but be sure to delete CSD 3 first; your saves will be fine!).

This version should also be going out to other store platforms today. Thanks again y'all and enjoy!
