Beta 0.4 - Boss Update

This update introduces a deadly foe to Airborn. The Aspect is a colossal war machine that sends wave after wave of missiles at you, and chases you down with a devastating laser beam.

Features
- Brand new boss fight to test your mastery of the game. It spawns once you've achieved a high score and is not to be taken lightly.
- Improved combat theme
- New sound effects for basically everything: UI, weapons, enemies, explosions

Beta 0.3 Update

This is a big one, finally I can reveal the progression system in Airborn that I've been working away on!

Each piece of equipment has multiple challenges of increasing difficulty tied to it, which upon completion grants XP. These missions are designed to encourage you to use the weapon in the scenarios it handles best (like destroying laser turrets from up close with the shotguns), or to really hone your mastery of the game mechanics (like destroying 10 enemies without getting hit). Some missions need to be completed in a single game, others you can work away at over time. I'm hoping that this challenge system will give players something new to aim for every time they hop into Airborn.

The next few updates will be around adding rewards that you can spend your new XP on. My ambition is to provide a ton of varied playstyles that are still true to the spirit of Airborn. That is, taking risks, flying fast, and feeling badass.

- Added new shotgun firing mode. Press X/A to toggle between firing modes on Oculus, or the menu button on Vive
- Added ammo counter for alternate firing modes

Tweaks
- Fixed the hub menu controls appearing off to the side (for real this time)
- Added numbers to flight tutorial rings to make their order more clear
- Made weapon spawn effects inherit the player's velocity so they're visible for longer
