The Holiday Season is coming to the Zone! With all that glowing chernobylite around, it should be easy to get in the holiday spirit, right? To get a bit of festive cheer going around, we’ve organized a holiday fan art contest. Show us what the season looks like in the Zone!

[h3]How to take part in the contest:[/h3]

• Create some form of Chernobylite holiday-themed fan art. It can be hand drawn, paper mache, photoshop, paint, etc.
  
• Send a picture of your art to [email protected] with the subject title: “CHE - Fan Art Contest” before January 10, 2022 11:59pm CET.
  
• Make sure to include what platform you’d prefer to get a game key for in your submission email in the event that you are chosen as a winner. The possible options are: Steam, Playstation, and Xbox.
  

The 5 most creative and original art pieces will win a free Chernobylite code for the entrant’s preferred platform. Winners will be contacted by email. An individual can win a max of one key. If you submit more than one entry, only your most recent entry will be considered.

Can you smell the air? It is the smell of home baking, and family atmosphere. It’s finally here. A time when we can forget about our worries for a while and focus on what is really important in life. Presents!

And while we are talking about them… A lot of work and new challenges await us in the new year. So we use this holiday season to relax a bit and gain strength for what awaits us in 2022. But before we went for a well-deserved rest, we wanted to give you a present. And it's quite big one. Because we gave you a free update called "Ghost Town"! And it gives you the opportunity to visit a completely new location - Pripyat Residential Area.

Thanks to the technology we use in the production of the game, you can discover the surroundings of Pripyat recreated in a virtual world. You will wander the narrow streets between apartment blocks…



…which can sometimes be accessed for resources.



Also outside, you will find a lot of interesting (and necessary) items.



Of course, as befits Chernobylite, there will be plenty of interesting views ...



...as well as numerous events.



Do not forget to visit one of the main attractions of the new location - the "Lazurny" Pool. There is a lot to see there. After all, we’re talking about a really large sports complex. You can read the history of this place here.

On our Steam page you can watch a pre-record showing our walk through the Pripyat Residential Area. However, if you want to experience this journey yourself, feel free to do so - "Ghost Town" is available for download by everyone, absolutely for free.

The second free DLC update is coming with best Christmas wishes from the whole Farm 51 Team! As a part of the Ghost Town DLC, we have prepared a completely new level based on the Pripyat Residential Area. It invites you not only to explore Pripyat, but also to face off against monsters and soldiers in new side missions.

Below you will find the complete changelog for this Christmas patch:

Additions:

• New level: Pripyat Residential Area. This new level is full of new events and resources to collect. Players will be able to explore the 3D scanned recreation of Pripyat’s neighborhoods and visit new iconic locations such as the Azure Swimming Pool.
  
• 3 new side missions: Supply drops. Explore the new level and find lost NAR resource dumps there.
  
• 3 new side: Monster hunts. Do you enjoy hunting monsters? So chase them on the newly added level and restock your Chernobylite supplies while you’re at it.
  

Technology:

• The lighting in some parts of Pripyat Port was too aggressive, we’ve optimized it.
  
• The same applies to Power Plant, hope you’ll notice the difference!
  

General:

• We have fixed markers in the previous free DLC, Monster Hunt. Monsters are now easier to find.
  
• Kozlow’s quest: it was possible to poison and stab Kozlow at the same time. Hope you didn’t get too attached to this overabundance because it’s fixed and no longer available. Choose one!
  
• Speaking of overabundance: it was previously possible to obtain an infinite amount of resources by using the recycling machine. But it can’t be that easy so we’ve fixed it!
  
• Cameras related to weapons and upgrades have been tweaked.
  
• Previous weapon skin packs have been improved and beautified.
  
• We’ve fixed reported crashes on Heist.
  
• One particular Shadow was constantly getting blocked while walking through the door to the Power Plant - we took care of the poor bastard.
  
• Dialogue blocker next to Power Plant: it was very rare but we decided to fix it as well.
  
• We’ve taken care of levitating objects and landscape distortions.
  
• We’ve fixed the encountered misspells.
  
• We’ve added some missing lines in translations from English
  
• We’ve fixed some bugs related to icons in tutorials

It’s a bit ironic that a city of science and engineering now looks like a supernatural being, isn’t it? Buildings overgrown with chernobylite seem to be from another dimension. It’s even more eerie with all the remnants of Pripyat’s residents—abandoned cars, forgotten toys…

Interestingly, those few who returned to speak of Ghost Town mentioned dolls specifically. There are real, deadly monsters around, and all they can talk about are dolls? The radiation must have affected their brains.



Explore the new area carefully—who knows what secrets are hidden there. Will you be able to survive? Enter Ghost Town on December 21.
