Free Update - “Ghost Town”

The second free DLC update is coming with best Christmas wishes from the whole Farm 51 Team! As a part of the Ghost Town DLC, we have prepared a completely new level based on the Pripyat Residential Area. It invites you not only to explore Pripyat, but also to face off against monsters and soldiers in new side missions.

Below you will find the complete changelog for this Christmas patch:

Additions:

New level: Pripyat Residential Area. This new level is full of new events and resources to collect. Players will be able to explore the 3D scanned recreation of Pripyat’s neighborhoods and visit new iconic locations such as the Azure Swimming Pool.
3 new side missions: Supply drops. Explore the new level and find lost NAR resource dumps there.
3 new side: Monster hunts. Do you enjoy hunting monsters? So chase them on the newly added level and restock your Chernobylite supplies while you’re at it.

Technology:

The lighting in some parts of Pripyat Port was too aggressive, we’ve optimized it.
The same applies to Power Plant, hope you’ll notice the difference!

General:

We have fixed markers in the previous free DLC, Monster Hunt. Monsters are now easier to find.
Kozlow’s quest: it was possible to poison and stab Kozlow at the same time. Hope you didn’t get too attached to this overabundance because it’s fixed and no longer available. Choose one!
Speaking of overabundance: it was previously possible to obtain an infinite amount of resources by using the recycling machine. But it can’t be that easy so we’ve fixed it!
Cameras related to weapons and upgrades have been tweaked.
Previous weapon skin packs have been improved and beautified.
We’ve fixed reported crashes on Heist.
One particular Shadow was constantly getting blocked while walking through the door to the Power Plant - we took care of the poor bastard.
Dialogue blocker next to Power Plant: it was very rare but we decided to fix it as well.
We’ve taken care of levitating objects and landscape distortions.
We’ve fixed the encountered misspells.
We’ve added some missing lines in translations from English
We’ve fixed some bugs related to icons in tutorials

It’s a bit ironic that a city of science and engineering now looks like a supernatural being, isn’t it? Buildings overgrown with chernobylite seem to be from another dimension. It’s even more eerie with all the remnants of Pripyat’s residents—abandoned cars, forgotten toys…

Interestingly, those few who returned to speak of Ghost Town mentioned dolls specifically. There are real, deadly monsters around, and all they can talk about are dolls? The radiation must have affected their brains.

Explore the new area carefully—who knows what secrets are hidden there. Will you be able to survive? Enter Ghost Town on December 21.

The streets of Pripyat are no longer a destination for a relaxing afternoon stroll. This is a place you come to die. At least that’s how the monsters living there will see it. If you’re going to visit Pripyat and want to live to tell the tale, you can never lose your focus.

Besides the lurking threat of hidden supernatural creatures, the Pripyat Residential Area is the only place in Chernobyl’s Exclusion Zone with a huge amount of chernobylite structures. Here you’ll find the largest chernobylite crystals in the Zone.

What horrors will you find inside? Make your way through the thicket of chernobylite and search the floors of buildings one by one. Enter Ghost Town on December 21.

Weekly Report #102

[h3]Hello Stalkers![/h3]
Another fantastic addition to the Chernobylite world in the form of a DLC will soon appear in our game. The pictures that we showed you in the previous report prove that we’re not exaggerating - this is going to be a big deal.

We actually planned to surprise you by showing the contents of the new DLC before we officially release it into the world. That’s why we sent our correspondent to take some photos of the new location for our report. However, we made one miscalculation...

That correspondent in question was our good old Mikhail. Mikhail took the matter very seriously and with commitment. Unfortunately, when his photos reached our marketing team, we realized that it was probably the first time he had ever held a camera in his hand.

Here’s an example of his "skills": Apparently Mikhail was strolling between apartment blocks with his camera on, without even realizing.

But it’s about to get more interesting. We have no idea what Mikhail originally intended to capture with his camera, but he ended up taking pictures of his own shoes. Maybe he followed the recent Instagram trend and decided to photograph his feet? Who knows? We’ve spent so much time together in the Zone, yet Mikhail still remains a mystery to us.

Of course, as befits an amateur, there were also photos with fingers on the lens. Mikhail, however, is a very unique photographer - he managed to capture a photo of not only his fingers, but his entire hand. And at the worst possible moment! Damn it, Mikhail, did you hide something on purpose?!

Mikhail also discovered the pure bliss of taking a selfie. Let us reiterate: we never asked for this. The good thing is he took the photograph against the background of… well…what is that exactly? It kind of looks like a piece of a basketball court.

We know very well that Mikhail enjoys skulking around the bushes. It was not required on this particular mission, yet he did it anyway. Force of habit, I guess.

The last photo is absolutely perfect because it shows the new location from a slightly wider perspective. Well… it would be perfect if Mikhail knew how to use the autofocus option.

We hope we whet your appetite a little bit for the upcoming DLC. Expect more information soon. And Mikhail won’t be taking any more photographs for our marketing team anytime soon. That’s a promise!

Have you heard of the Pripyat Residential Area before? It was a symbolic place. One of the nuclear cities of the “peaceful atom” era. Unfortunately, the industry that gave Pripyat its purpose ultimately was responsible for its demise.

With the upcoming free content update, Ghost Town, you’ll be able to visit the neighborhood, now nothing more than a graveyard of dreams. The area isn’t safe either. Are you brave enough to cross the river and discover the unexpected? Make sure you watch your step when crossing—the river is filled with chernobylite crystals.
