May 2021 Update: New camera options, sound notifications and more

May 2021 update brings new camera overlay features, more sound notifications and options to import and export application settings.

You can now flip camera image from camera options to make it more realistic. You can also choose the format/quality for the camera overlay from a list of supported formats.

In this new update, sound notifications are played when you pause and resume recording which confirm your action when you use hotkeys in game.

From settings section, new options are available to import and export application settings or reset them to their default. If you use Screenbits on multiple devices, you can now use this feature to export your settings from one device and import it to another one.

March 2021 Updates: User Interface changes

March 2021 updates bring some changes to the user interface. You are now able to view size, resolution, frame rate and larger thumbnail of output files from Files section.

There are also some changes related to the taskbar and notification area icon. Application icon now stays on notification area even if the app is not minimized. In addition to this change, application icon now stays in taskbar even if the app is minimized, unless the related option is off.

February 2021 Update: Chroma Key feature

February 2021 update brings Chroma Key feature which allows you to easily remove background from camera overlay by choosing a chroma key. In addition to this feature, recording performance is also improved on devices with Intel® Quick Sync Video support.

January 2021 Updates: Performance improvements

As we add new features to Screenbits through regular and major updates, we also want to make sure the app is working as expected and performing better and better within each update. In January 2021, two updates (version 6.3.1 and version 6.4.1) have been published so far, both focusing on performance improvements and bug fixes.

Updated version of Screenbits now performs slightly better on low-end devices without a hardware video encoder. Also, the app now uses less CPU when using Camera overlay allowing operating system and the game or application being recorded use more hardware resources.

In addition to these improvements, we have fixed a few bugs in the recent updates. If you are interested in the details, check out the release notes on Screenbits website.

December 2020 Update: Statistics feature

December 2020 update (version 6.2.2) brings statistics feature to Screenbits. This feature provides useful information about the app and current recording session including actual recording frame-rate, health of the output and resource usage of the application.

Stats can be viewed by clicking the stats icon under the recording timer. The icon appears right after recording starts.
