May 2025 update adds an option to use the new screen capture APIs in case of issues with the default method. By enabling Prefer modern screen capture option from Screen & pointer options, new capture APIs (WGC) is used instead of the default (DXGI).

Additionally, Screenbits can now detect if Camera or Microphone are not accessible due to Windows Privacy settings. It prevents recording error and lets you know before recording starts.

A few UI improvements and bug fixes are also applied in this update.

February 2025 update simply fixes a few bugs related to recording errors, capturing virtual cameras and overexposed screen capture output.

January 2025 update brings new features for scheduler, audio sources and hotkeys, and a few improvements for the user interface.

Scheduler now supports pause mode which enables automatic pause at certain time, duration or size of the output file. You can now mute/unmute audio sources from UI or using hotkeys, supporting push-to-talk and push-to-mute. Speaking of hotkeys, middle and extra mouse buttons can now be used for hotkeys.

As for the user interface improvements, you can now view name of the monitor for selected display and name of the application for selected window.

December update improves Window capture mode which allows capturing content of top level windows even if obscured by other windows. There are also improvements in pointer highlight effect and UI scaling on multi-display setups as well as a few bug fixes.

October 2024 update improves performance of screen capturing and also the area selector. Additionally, as a little new feature, you can now flip camera image vertically. There are also multiple bug fixes which the most important one is fixing oversaturated screen capture from HDR enabled displays.
