1.3 and 1.4
For those you wondering where the next version is, we're still here and working on it! Below is an update on our next two releases, as well as their time tables.
Version 1.3 - Balance Overhaul
Over the past month, community member Minacious Grace has put in a lot of work towards making the game more balanced, both competitively and for Scoreboard runs. A large number of towers received buffs, with some even getting reworks. All in all, this should result in a much more varied meta!
Also coming in this update:
In this update, not only will Score Leaderboards be reset, but Ranked Leaderboards are also getting reset. This balance update will mark the start of Ranked Season 2, starting everyone from 300 MMR again. Season 1's values will be viewable from in-game.
We're expecting to release Version 1.3 in about 2-3 weeks!
Version 1.4 - Quad Towers
Over the years, the most requested feature has been, by far, "more towers". Since the original version in WC3 over 16 years ago, the game has enjoyed a steady 44 tower count. However, that's finally going to change...
In Version 1.4, we're going to be adding 15 New Towers! Each of them requires 4 Different Elements, with the goal being to fill numerous gaps in the balance, enabling new builds, build orders, new ways to think of positioning, and in general just adding all kinds of fun, wacky effects. Many of them have trade-off effects (ie, amplifies damage, but also speeds up the creep), or something else to make it unique.
Starting this weekend, we'll start doing previews for Quad Towers, one at a time, all the way up to their release.
Expect Version 1.4 & Quad Element Towers to arrive in November!
Other Stuff
As stated in our last Roadmap post, we were going to add Specializations Mode for Version 1.3. However, the solution we were going for would've ended up a bit rushed and half-baked. Fret not, we'll come back to it in a future update, just not now.
In the meantime, look forward to our next two big updates!
