Quad Preview - Obelisk Tower
Coming in Version 1.4, we're adding 15 New Towers to the game, each of which requires 4 Different Elements. For this week's preview, we're showing off Obelisk Tower, a Fire-based Tower with a powerful on-kill effect.
[h2]Obelisk Tower[/h2]

Elements: Light, Water, Fire, Nature
Damage Type: Fire
Effect: Fires a constant beam at the target. If the target dies, it explodes. The longer the beam channels when it explodes, the more damage and AoE it does.

On-kill effects usually fall off as the game progresses, as creeps get harder to kill, and thus they don't trigger as easily. However, because this one scales the longer it shoots at a creep, it comes with a risk/reward payoff. If you shoot at a creep for a really long time, you can get a really big explosion... if the target dies. If the creep escapes before the tower changes targets, there's no explosion.
Obelisk does not have to be one to land the killing blow for its explosion to go off. In fact, you can even have multiple Obelisks shooting the same creep, and when it dies, it'll trigger an explosion for each beam on that creep.
What's this? An on-kill tower that can scale into the end-game? Nonsense!

This was supposed to be released by now, buuut we're getting held up on a particular bug. We think we've found the cause, but it's gonna take a little more time to test and confirm it. In theory, the patch should release this coming weekend. In theory. A reminder that when it does arrive, Score & Ranked Leaderboards will be reset.
