Version 0.52 - Grand City, Alt Ronald, and More!

Version 0.52 is now out! Includes new visuals for the co-op map, Grand City, an alternative to Ronalds, improved Tower Table functionality, 18 new Achievements, 6 new Cosmetics, and numerous improvements and bug fixes!



[h2]Features[/h2]
  • Grand City now has proper visuals!
  • New Multiplayer Achievements added! Noted, all of the following require at least one other player in the game:
    • Added 3 Achievements based on winning 1st Place 1 / 5 / 25 times in an FFA Game
    • Added 8 Achievements based on clearing through Wave 55 in Teams Mode, one for each map
    • Added 4 Achievements based on beating Grand City, one for each Difficulty
    • Added 3 Achievements based on getting 500 / 2000 / 5000 Boss Score in Grand City
  • By default, from Wave 56 onwards, the game will now show a different boss visual, replacing Ronald.
    • But fret not, to re-enable Ronald, just go to your Game Settings, and set "Ronald Boss Skin" to On.
  • If you Ctrl+Click in the Tower Table, it will now build and automatically upgrade that tower to the highest level available.
    • This also works with Shift Building and Drag Building.


[h2]Teams Mode[/h2]
  • The difficulty of Teams has been rescaled:
    • Creep count reduced from 60 to 40
    • Bounty multiplier increased from x1 to x1.5
    • HP increased from x1 to x1.7
  • If you are on a team, and your ally leaves early, all future waves will use Solo HP Scaling.
  • If you are on a team, and your ally leaves early, the Wave 56+ Boss Waves no longer get stuck after one wave.


[h2]Improvements & Fixes[/h2]
  • The Main Menu has received another coat of paint.
  • Added option to hide Ally Indicators.
  • When hovering over a tower on the Tower Table, its tooltip info is now out to the side instead of obscuring its related references.
  • Chatbox input no longer requires pressing Enter twice to get out.
  • Camera Bounds have been expanded for all maps.
  • The amount of XP you receive from clearing a wave in Co-op has been doubled.
  • Fixed a bug where you could XP from Eliminations in Co-op.
  • Fixed a bug where Language keeps getting reset everytime you open the game.
  • Fixed Earth's Shockwave visual not showing up.
  • Fixed Teams Notifications resetting itself every time you re-opened the game.
  • Fixed Notifications listing [unknown] for the host's name.
  • Fixed Player Level on the in-game Scoreboard always displaying 0 for everyone else.


[h2]Visuals[/h2]
  • Towers no longer tilt up/down towards the target.
  • Cannon now rotates and animates.
  • Solar & Life no longer twitch.
  • Windstorm has been improved with better lightning VFX.


[h2]Cosmetics[/h2]
  • New Builder: Chessmaster
  • New Builder: Eye of the Beholder
  • New Hat: Blue Veil
  • New Hat: Sandwich
  • New Trail: Clouds
  • New Trail: Blazing Fireball


Regarding Leaderboard Support for Teams & Co-op Modes, that was supposed to arrive this patch, but some complications came up, and we're delaying that to Version 0.53. In the meantime, enjoy the new-and-improved Grand City, along with our other improvements!

Grand City Preview

This weekend, we'll be releasing Version 0.52, new Achievements, new Cosmetics, the ability to Ctrl+Click from the Tower Table to build the highest level of that tower, bug fixes, and more!

Lastly, although it was a conscious decision on our part to include Ronalds as the end-game boss for nostalgia's sake, it hasn't gone down great with new players that never played the original. That said, by default, the new boss skin will be the new one below:




But to those of you who want to keep the Ronalds, don't worry! We've included an option to turn it back on:

Playtesting

We've updated our Discord with a #roles channel, allowing you to give yourself:
  • @LFG Role - Used for "Looking For Game", so you can organize a multiplayer game just by pinging everyone else in @LFG
  • @Testers Role - Opt-in to our Alpha Branch, letting you playtest the latest builds!


Do note, although you'll be able to test the latest and greatest, it's usually prone to bugs, and we ping our testers quite often.

Version 0.52 won't be releasing this weekend; however, we are working on testing it, and we'll be running some sessions on Saturday, July 11th @ 2:00pm UTC. So if you're interested, hop on our Discord and become a tester!

Reset Random Leaderboards

In the most recent patch, we adjusted the algorithm for Random Elements so that you no longer get 6-Element builds every single darn game. While this came out as a positive adjustment, it came with an oversight - it screwed over the replays for all the Random Leaderboards.

As a result, we've had to reset them. Not the Pick Leaderboards, those are fine still. Sorry for the inconvenience!

Version 0.51 - Bug Fixes and Less 6-Element Randoms

Version 0.51 is here, complete with some major bug fixes, and an adjustment to how elements are given in Random. Read on for the full patch notes!


[h2]Improvements[/h2]
  • Adjusted the Random Elements algorithm:
    • At the start of a match, the game decides whether you're getting one of a 3, 4, 5, or 6 Element Build (with Interest and/or Essence upgrades intermixed).
    • However, the game does not tell you this, so you won't actually know which you've got until after Wave 50.
    • This way, you should see a much wider variety of Randoms, instead of 6-Element every single game.
  • Adjusted the HP Scaling in Teams Mode:
    • If you're a solo player, you still get the default scaling, starting at 100 HP and going up 16% per wave.
    • If you're on a team though, it'll start at 110 HP and go up 16.8% per wave.
      • By Wave 55, this ends up about 60% higher HP than default.
  • Achievements can now be completed in Teams Mode:
    • Except the Score achievements. Even with the adjusted HP Scaling, high scores are still much easier on Teams than Solo/FFA. The text has been amended on them to clarify this.
  • Your Level is now displayed in-game on the Scoreboard, in the corner of your Avatar.
  • Killing a Cursed Creep now applies a VFX over the killing tower, displaying the area affected.
  • Health Bars now show up above a creep's head, instead of below them.
  • Added Portugese language option.


[h2]Bug Fixes[/h2]
  • Fixed a major bug where someone hosting a game and then disconnecting could result in a Zombie Lobby, meaning it would never go away as long as there were other players in it.
  • Fixed a major bug where Temple Replays were getting assigned the wrong scene index, causing most of their leaderboard entries to be unviewable.
    • Temple Leaderboards have been reset to account for this. Sorry about that!
  • Fixed Wings not staying bought.
  • Fixed Friendly/Enemy Indicators showing up over towers while building/upgrading in Teams Mode.
  • Fixed Audio Channels always resetting itself to 20. It should now remember your settings.


[h2]Cosmetics[/h2]
  • Added:
    • 2 New Builders
    • 2 New Trails
    • 4 New Hats
  • Shuffled some of the Level Requirements around.
    • If you already have a particular Cosmetic even though its requirement has been bumped up, don't worry - you'll still keep it.
  • Adjusted many of the existing Cosmetics. Ones that were dark before should stand out better now.


[h2]Miscellaneous[/h2]
  • Updated some out-of-date threads on the Forums.

  • Discord has received some emote updates. We'll be continuing to add more unique ones over time.


We also have some updated release windows:
  • Expect the first few chapters of the Campaign to release in early August!
  • Ranked Mode should finally be implemented in early September.
  • And at last, Full Release should happen by late September! Look forward to it, we still have lots left to add (and fix)!
