Universal Card Release 01



Hello to the lost souls of Shadespire,

Our first Universal Card Update is here! You'll be getting 20 new cards to add to your decks.

All you need to do is update and launch your game! There you will be presented with a Universal Card Pack, which when clicked, will gift you with the cards, straight into your deck builder. You'll also be able to see the list of new cards on our Bulletin Board in the start menu screen.

COMPLETE VICTORY

Though this card might seem high risk, Complete Victory is an easy reward for those who specialise their decks around defence and survival. Outwit and outlast your enemy opponent for 3 well earned Glory.

CONFUSED PRIORITIES

Has the enemy already claimed an Objective you need? Claim another objective and swap the two! Destroy your enemy's strategy and claim your victory!

DAEMONIC WEAPON

A devastating weapon to plow through your enemies, while also inflicting damage to your fighter. This weapon is a must have for any Ironskull’s Boyz deck.

[h3]Board Setup Timer[/h3] Timer: Board setup now features a timer. When this runs out, a decision is made randomly

Begin match: No longer waits for both players to hit Begin Match button - when board setup is complete, the game begins

[h3]Clarity Update #1[/h3] Glossary: An in-game Glossary of Terms to help better understand some core game concepts. This is accessible from the main menu, as well as in-game

Card Glow: When you’re able to play a card, such as during your Power Step, playable cards will glow and bounce

[h3]Menus & UI[/h3] Card Pack animation: You’ll now get a cool card pack animation if we’ve dropped a Universal Card Release since you last logged in

[h3]Bug Fixes[/h3] Information is Key: Fixed a bug where the Event Log would not display the correct information during the Power Step

Anyone There?: Potential fix for a bug where some players were having connection issues at board setup

Match Made in Shadespire: Fixed a bug where cancelling out of a matchmaking queue might affect your ability to enter online matches

Invisible Walls: Fixed a bug that we thought we fixed last patch. Invisible Walls should work now

Coming Soon: Hotfix for Currently Known Issues

Tutorial: The Phase Wheel in the Tutorial doesn’t always load correctly preventing you from pressing the Pass button, however using the SPACE bar will work here
Discard: Discarding cards in the End Phase sometimes causes issues with the Pass button, however using the SPACE bar will also work here
Bloodless: This card is score-able if drawn after damage is dealt during a round. This is not the correct behavior for the card

Concede Messaging:
While we want players to stay in matches, they don’t always want to. We want you to feel satisfied that you’ve forced an opponent to surrender, so we’ve updated messaging around conceding.

We’ve juiced up the post-match screen to make winning and losing feel a little nicer

Menus & UI
+ Bulletin Board:
We’ve set up a little messaging system so that we can send important announcements right to the Home screen of the game - now you have no need ALT+TAB to read Producer Nik’s patch notes

+ Gurzag 2 Swole:
Fixed a bug where the game would stop if Gurzag took out ANY fighter during an online match
+ What Counts as Moving?: Fixed a bug where the use of Hidden Paths would not score March of the Dead
+ Invisible Walls: Fixed a bug where Invisible Walls wasn’t working as intended. Now it works as intended

Playing with Friends Gameplay Update: Speed Tactical Overlay

Playing with Friends
+ Match codes:
Using a code, you and another player will be matched up directly, without needing to be friends on Steam OR in real life
Steam invites: Invite a friend directly from your Steam friend list to play

Gameplay Update: Speed Turn timers: Decreased maximum turn time
+ Fast Mode: Added a Fast Mode toggle in the Settings menu that decreases timers on dice and phase wheel animations
+ Auto: New options: Auto pass power step, auto score objectives

Tactical Overlay
+ What is it?:
Bring up an overlay that more clearly shows hex edges, board edges, and objective markers/numbers
+ How to use: Hold the ALT key to turn on, let go to turn off. Press the button to toggle it on until you turn it off again

Menus & UI ESCAPE: This quality of life fix allows you to hit ESC to move back through a menu

Miscellaneous
+ Board Set-up:
Added a Random button during Objective Placement that places an objective marker randomly
+ Customise Warband: Customising your warband now selects skins for ALL warband members in order to remain thematically in-line with the lore of faction-skins

Bug Fixes Time to Upgrade?: Fixed a bug where Windows 7 users took much longer to matchmaker than other players
You can Attack, as a Treat: Fixed a bug where Leadin’ By Example would not allow you to select fighters who had already made an attack action
Draw, Quit, Crash: Fixed a bug that would cause a crash to desktop if you quit a game after drawing with your opponent

User Interface Decision box: The small information box on the bottom of the in-game screen will now stay up at all times, but disappears on rollover

+ Rank icons: Changed icon position on Victory and in-match screens
Sepulchral Guard: All members of this warband now start with their default skin, and not the Legion of Night skin. To change skins, hit Customise Fighters
+ Deckbuilder: Fixed some masking issues in the Deckbuilder

Bug Fixes
+ Magical Orruks: Fixed a bug where an Orruk model would spawn off the board every time they dealt damage while the Kryptboyz skin was equipped
Steelheart likes attention: Fixed a bug where selecting a warband in Bot Match would only let you play against Steelheart’s Champions
Where’s the music? Default volume settings have been adjusted so that on first boot up you’ll hear the music we put a lot of effort into creating
