Big Flea Update

Hello, as always, before we get started, please join our next Playtest by requesting access on the product page on Steam. We've received +50 requests since the last update, but we need more. Adding the game to your wishlist will also help ;)

We've been developing our game for quite a long time, but the only thing remains the same was characters. Technically, they were poorly optimized; on the visual side, the characters were, let’s say, "unclear".

So after much discussion and brainstorming, we decided to take the time to update all of the playable characters.

Main goals were:
  • Visual difference for classes.
  • Better optimization.
  • Funny look with a hint of madness (and definetelly more emotions).
  • Suitable for accessories.


This brought us to this:

New flea concept.


And here are the game models of each character:


Slobber. Uses a sticky liquid to catch and destroy its enemies.


Smoker. Assassin class, fast and cunny. Can use invisibility. Makes tremendous damage from the enemy's back.


Shocker Well balanced electricity-based flea.


Dozer. Little too slow but heavy and strong flea.


We've also thought about the personalization you can add to your characters and have added our first batch of caps. They're already in the game if you join us for the next Playtest you'll be able to choose what to wear :)

Flea Status Report - 18 March 2024

Hey, here's what we've recently achieved in development. But before we start please find the Join Playtest button at the game store page and request access:



we have got more than 130 new requests from our previous post, and still looking for more people to join, please do it ;)

In this update we were mostly focused on character classess updates:

1. Tentacula "Fighter" class becomes a "Shocker" now. His bite applies periodic electrical damage to the enemy and if two enemy are close enough to each other they will both receive damage.



2. "Invisibility" ability has duration now. We've also added a nice-looking visual and sound effects when you are invisible.



3. Visual indicator for bite reload added.
4. New "Burrow" ability added.
5. New "Stone skipping" ability added.



6. New "Bomber" ability added.



7. New "Energy ball" ability added.
8. Problem with team mixing when join from lobby is fixed now.
9. Started working on "offline" training map with NPC waves spawning. It will help new players to adapt faster :)
10. All explosion VFXs are improved.

This is all for today, we still have a lot of updates on the map and game mode but let's continue about this next time.

Flea Status Report - 28 December 2023

Hey, here's what we've recently achieved in development. But before we start please find the Join Playtest button at the game store page and request access:


we have 1000+ requests now , but you know, this is a mutiplayer game, we need mooore ;)

This update mainly focused on HUD information:

1. Crosshair animation is now synchronized with the bite.
2. We added a progress bar for bite preparation (the longer you hold the bite button, the harder you bite).
3. Imporved visual effect for level up .



4. Critical bite is now indicated.
5. You now able to see how much health you get from each bite and pieces you can pick up.



6. There is a new progress bar in HUD that shows your progress in evolution.
7. To evovle you need to press "F" and you have some time to be in "Mad" state, it gives you a kind of shield but on the other hand your successful bites won't give you any more health.



This is all for today, we still have a lot of updates on the map and game mode but let's continue about this next time.

New NPC

Hey, we've done a new npc character, let us share information about it. But before it please find the Join Playtest button at the game store page and request access, we are waiting for more testers to start our first big playtest:




So, we thought that it wasn't cool to have only peaceful npc characters like maggots or grasshoppers, and it would be cool to add something new, something aggressive. Meet a "Lampbug", yeah name could be better, we're open for your suggestions in comments or on our discord: Flea Madness Dicord



What are two things you need to know about it:

1. It will burn you with its laser.



2. If you kill it and get the lamp you'll get some points for Food Evolution (more about it in coming posts).

This character is already in game and will be active on coming playtest,

We're back!!!

As many of you know, we have had to freeze the development of Flea Madness due to war in our country. When Russia invaded Ukraine we needed time to adapt to a new reality. However, time is passing and we are now prepared to resume development of our game.

It is the time to officialy announce that Flea Madness is in-development againю This is even more symbolic, as we are announcing it during our participation in the Ukrainian Game Festival 2023. We have already done some significant changes to the game and have a lot more in plans. More info about it below, but meanwhile please find the Join Playtest button at the game store page and request access, we are waiting for more testers to start our first big playtest:



So what's new?

  • UfoArena map has been changed. It's now bigger, has day-night cycle, several biomes etc.



  • Game visual effect has been improved.
  • A lot more abilities were added : Blink, Ground strike, Spike leech, Poison leech, Acid bubles, Gravity bomb, Reverse teleport. More ablities to come!



  • Friends can be added to your lobby so you will play together as a team. Yeah, finally ;)
  • Slobber and Tentacula are now divided into specializations (think classes): Slobber Fighter, Slobber Tank, Tentacula Fighter and Tentacula Assassin. They have different base abilities and parameters.
  • We're working on main game mode, but already have several additonal modes like Battle Royale, Capture Wormactus and Team Deathmatch.
  • Added few more NPCs: Grasshoper, Lootable maggot and Lamp bug.



  • Added leveling in match. You can now get up to 10 levels during the match and increase your physical parameters on each of them.
