Lofi Ping Pong will be free soon!
Hello everyone!
It's been a while since I posted anything and now I have some news for you.
Lofi Ping Pong and Kovox Pitch will soon become free on Steam! To be more precise, it will happen on the 19th of November 2023.
The main reason for this decision is time (and money). Some people already know that in 2022 I got a job at a gamedev company. There wasn't much time left for my own games, which made it difficult to make updates (I'm not even talking about making a new game). This eventually affected the number of sales, which led me to the decision to make them free-to-play. But that doesn't mean I'm giving them up.
I had an update plan for Kovox Pitch, which I executed this summer and I consider it 100% finished.
Things are more ambiguous with Lofi Ping Pong.
Even though it's already a pretty old game (it's almost 5 years old, sheesh), I want to make two major updates. First of all, I'll make a new UI (I already have all mockups for it). Secondly, I'll make a unified version of the game on all platforms (Steam has the 2019 version of the game made with Gamemaker, Switch and mobiles have the 2020 version made with Unity). Honestly, both updates I want to make primarily for myself, just to see what I've learnt in 5 years. Of course, I'll add stuff like the calibrator too, because it's a rhythm game after all!
In August I was planning to do both updates by the end of this year, but I'm 100% not going to make it in time. I won't be setting any new deadlines, in the last couple of months I haven't done much for one reason - I'm tired. I'll take rest until the end of the 2023, but will keep giggling at your funny reviews on Steam. If you guys are tired too, you're welcome to join the I-Will-Do-It-Later club, it's lovely here.
P.S. Lofi Ping Pong is now free on mobiles too, but the console versions of both games will remain premium. All the best.
