Perfect Round Disc Golf News

Major Patch 2: Welcome to High Country

-NEW COURSE! High country was inspired by the wooded courses around me in the PNW. No grass, but watch out for nettles(don't worry they won't sting). Short and Long 18 hole layouts

-Front 9 of High Country serves as the location for the new tutorial, which can be played through the main menu. This also explains the basics of disc golf. let me know what you guys think of the explanations/tutorial, want to make it as friendly for beginners as possible

-Putting is now less based on glide and gets more of a pop off the hand.(less Paul more Ricky) you will have to adjust your putting style but this makes banging chains from further out more possible+satisfying

-Player Stats added. Circle 1/2%, longest drives/putts/throw ins along with hole results(par, birdie, etc) are now recorded. Can be viewed from the main menu. Will start counting from every round finished from here on out

-Changed the ambience on every level, before they all had the same track. Sounds way cooler now.

-Small change to tap in power from close in, should reduce missed tap ins

-Max wind speed is now based on the course, beginner courses have a lower max wind speed working up to Rolling Thunder longs with max top wind speed

Enjoy!

Major Patch 1: The Wind Update

Along with wind being implemented in the game, the first big patch for Perfect Round Disc Golf features 2 new 18 hole courses!

The wind is fully simulated during disc flight, looking at difference in Air Speed, affecting turn and glide, and the angle the wind is hitting the flight plate. It adds up to the wind reacting how you would expect. Flags have been added to the baskets which will show the wind, and trees and bushes will react realistically.

Long Layouts have been added to Green Hills and Rolling Thunder, bringing the total course count to 7! Unlock them by shooting par or better on the respective course short layout. Because some of the existing holes were split between the long and short layouts, current high scores had to be reset for those two courses.

I'm super pleased with the progress the game has made in the first month and a half of Early Access, and it is thanks to all the feedback I'm getting from players like you! Thank you everyone for your patience and feedback in this process, I love to be able to work on a Disc Golf game with feedback from the community. Weekly Patch Notes #5

Lots of updates this week! Every day since the last weekly update. Lots of bug fixes this week, and changes to remove some of the friction between the game and user to make the player experience smoother. I'm happy with where the game is right now, so I am going to slow down on the small fixes/additions(unless necessary) and start working on adding wind. Then on to multiplayer!

4/10/2020
-Hid back 9/full 18 buttons for cornwall to avoid confusion as there is no back 9
-1-8 can be used to select discs in your bag, num pad as well
-changed Rolling Thunder hole 5 to par 4
-character wont slide down steep slopes that the disc may stop on anymore
-fixed instances when the selecting hyzer angle would get "stuck", so you couldnt look left/right even though the button wasn't held
-can lean l/r with the controller stick now

4/11/2020
-Distances display correctly on scorecard now
-changed the topography on some Green Hils zone holes, and changed the collision on the platform on that course and cascades. should not be any more holes in the collision there

4/12/2020
-automatically switches to putting within Circle 1(33 ft)
-fixed a bug caused by the last update that sometimes caused the first basket not to be activated
-oh I also aligned the distances on the 18 hole scorecard

-#2
-back nine rounds will now record the correct top score
-doubled power shots on full 18 rounds

4/13/2020
-Fixed the lie being on top of the basket and shooting you across the map when the disc stops on the basket top
-tap in range changed from 8-10ft
added post processing(depth of field, AO) to cornwall and the driving range. It looks good but will impact performance. Turning down the post processing video setting will disable this and help performance greatly.
-Made the basket chains shiny. For some reason they were all grey with no lighting before

4/14/2020
-Added and option to reset high scores. wont affect the full 18 being unlocked if you already have it. High scores now record properly, so if you have an unbeatable high score from when they did not add correctly you can reset it now.
-took out some unnecessary code from the flight physics, should help performance

4/15/2020
-added some words to the play now screen to indicate you need to upgrade skills to unlock the courses

Thanks!

Weekly Patch Notes #4

Made some big(and important) changes to the discs flight/release this week. This should address the complaints about discs not flying on the intended line, as they no longer get a vertical boost on release in relation to the flight plate. That caused steep hyzers for example to get pushed left(for a right handed character) on release, now they look WAY better and more of a sweeping flight.

It was also brought to my attention the third click wasn't registering properly, which was completely true and an oversight on my part. I rewrote the check so it is now pixel perfect, and changed the sound to make it more obvious when you hit the yellow "perfect" zone. If you hit the yellow, even if you are not exactly centered, there will be no hyzer/anhyzer penalty.

I also changed the punishment for a missed third click, before it would just penalize the hyzer angle left/right depending on the missed click, now that penalty is reduced but it also pushes the disc left/right. This feels way more natural and enables griplock anhyzers and slip out hyzers.

Lastly I added the first new character! Morigesh is a lefty, to balance the lefty/righty characters. Definitely the most evil of disc golfers. Now that there are four characters future characters will have to be unlocked in some way.

4/2/2020
-Quickfix to change next/prev disc back to z/x as the E key doesnt work to change discs. except on the driving range for some reason. investigating now
#2
-caused by the water. stopped working last year when I added the water and I just changed the keybind and moved on:sleepy: all good now

4/5/2020
-New Character! Morigesh joins the fun. when she's not busy corrupting the souls of the innocents she unwinds with some disc golf. second lefty character, I think from here out additional characters will be unlockable instead of unloked by default
-Griplocks and Slipouts are now distinctly possible! Discs now push left/right on a missed third click in addition to hyzered/anhyzered. disc angle penalty has been reduced alon with this change
-lefties now have more hyzer on early third clicks and more anhyzer on late clicks, instead of the opposite way. same as righties

4/7/2020
-Throw bar works now! before it was not correctly detecting third clicks in the yellow zone. Now if you click in the yellow you get a "perfect" hit, and the disc will fly on the angle you aimed at, no adjustment. Also changed the sound to make it more obvious
-discs no longer get a vertical boost(in relation to the flight plate) on release. Instead, they are just angled up 10-20 degrees straight vertically. this was the cause of throws not appearing to fly down the line you were aiming, which would have been worse on steep hyzers/anhyzers as they would get a boost left/right. The releases look a million times better
-also helps with short putts releasing low, will not have to aim as far above the basket
-made some big changes to disc flight, particularly glide. Disc flight in general will be less of a rainbow and more of a line drive.

Thanks!
