All Hollow Knight Silksong Mask Shard locations

Where are Silksong Mask Shards? Just like in Hollow Knight, these hidden items are used to upgrade health. While they aren't essential, finding them early can keep you alive when going up against tough enemies and delving into late-game areas.

You need four Mask Shards to unlock a new health upgrade in Hollow Knight Silksong. There are 20 Mask Shards in total, which means there's five health upgrades up for grabs in the Metroidvania game. Most are hidden in secret areas of the Silksong map, and are only accessible once you unlock specific abilities. However, the more health you have, the more forgiving Silksong bosses will be, so it's well worth the extra effort to find them all.

Where are all the Hollow Knight Silksong crests? Looted from their corresponding temples found throughout Pharloom, Silksong crests offer a way to switch up Hornet's combat style to your liking. Though you can't mix and match each attack to make your own build from scratch, upgrade paths and tool slots can offer a way to tailor your Silksong experience or exploit an opening in the attack pattern of an especially tricky boss.

Hollow Knight: Silksong review

I want to give Hollow Knight: Silksong a thrashing. A fully suited C-suite bollocking. I want to verbally repay unto it every cruel death, every pernickety jumping puzzle, every time-thieving runback it’s inflicted on me across the past five days.

But I can’t. For every moment of frustration, there are five of relief, of joy, of beauty even. As in Hollow Knight, Silksong stretches itself over a vast Metroidvania map, and yet its intricacies – its narrowest tunnels leading to grand new regions, its more acrobatic and tailorable combat movesets – make for constantly rewarding exploration, as well as some thrillingly free-flowing bugfights. There have been a couple times when I never wanted to play it again, and many more when I wish I never had to stop.
