Development Update 3

Greetings and welcome to development update 3!

Come join us at our discord server! We're setting up a hub for our community to gather at and commune with us while we continue development. https://discordapp.com/invite/8v26sRc

In this update we've focused on adding various equipment. This includes several variations of the 6x4 AK74/AKM Bayonet, such as the unique borderguard version, as well as the Soviet "Afganka", which was first introduced in the 80's, as the initial available USSR faction-based uniform.

In this example, our player, a Soviet sniper, is equiped with a variation of an authentic "Aphganka" uniform, which was originally introduced in the early 80's, and is still used in some Post-Soviet states today. Variants of the uniform include different camoflauges, such as birch for KGB Border Troops, as well as a lightweight version for summer, and a heavier more insulated version for winter. The jacket of the uniform typically had 6 pockets for various gear the soldier would likely be carrying. Soldiers would attach pouches to their uniform to carry extra magazines for their weapons as well as grenade pouches.

In-game ammo pouches will change depending on the gun the player currently has selected, this example is for the SVD and holds 4 magazines. The image lower is a a grenade pouch which holds two grenades.

We're beginning to add melee weapons, the first of which being the Soviet 6X4 AK74/AKM Bayonet, more often just used as a combat knife. The 6x4 bayonet was originally introduced in 1965, and has been altered several times through-out the years resulting in types 1 through 4 and several military branch specific variations.

Part of an award for the KGB borderguard troops, this version of the 6x4 is made with a green bakelite plastic.

We intend to give players a large variety of choices in customizing their equipment, with several 6x4 bayonet versions available already, this type 4 variant is from 1986 and came in a border guard AK74's kit, equiped with a unique green polyamide plastic.

The MPi-AK74N bayonet, for the DDR faction, is the same production as the Soviet 6x4 but with black plastic instead.

We'll be adding more knives such as the M7 and M9 for the US side will be added in future updates. If you've enjoyed our update, please don't forget to leave feedback on our discord channel, your opinion is important and helps us create a game you will enjoy!

Development Update 2

In this update the SKS has recieved the 10p8 optic, and the SVD has recieved the PSO-1 optic. We've also added more equipment in the form of a flask and holster, as well as finished implementing the SVU rifle.

We've finished implementing the SVU in-game, a bullpup conversion for the SVD made in the last 80's, with a diopter flip-up sights system made easy to use in-game. However it can adopt almost any dove-tail mount optic.

This is a screenshot of the default diopter sight. It's pretty good for close-quarter engagements and doesn't have the added weight as a dedicated optic like the PSO-1.

We've been working on more optics for the game. We'll share some of our progress on those.
The PSO-1 scope is done in a style from the 1960's where it's coated in black paint, it's a soviet 4x optic typically mounted on a SVD, though it's possible to put it on any dove-tail mount.
We put a lot of effort into making this optic as detailed as possible.

The PSO-1 reticle has a built-in range finder which helps with bullet drop and drift compensation. You can use the left chart, comparing it with a targets height, to get the average distance of said target, even past 1000 meters. We've also made the scope have some impurities in the glass to make sure it's authentic.

The reticle of the PSO-1 can also be illuminated by a small battery-powered lamp allowing for use at night. In-game you can enable the illumination via a key and turn it on/off based on the combat situation.

The 10P8 ( also known as the PU scope )is a 3.5 magnification optic made by the soviets in 1940. Currently as an option to be mounted on the SKS carbine, it will also be available on the Mosin sniper rifle variant once that has been added.

The SKS itself already has adjustable sights allowing for shooting out to 800 meters, but the 10P8 should help players in acquiring their targets rather dramatically.

A flask to be carried by every player. We're still debating over the full usage of this equipment, though it will likely provide players with a temporary stamina boost when used while low on stamina.

When not in use we plan to display to display the pistol properly in it's holster, we're also considering displaying the players primary weapon on their body properly when not in use.

Development Update

In this update we're sharing our current progress on the SVU, as well as several attachments we're working on adding, including optics we've recently added for the Warsaw pact faction, as well as the PBS-1 Suppressor.

We're working on implementing the SVU, which is a bullpup conversion for the SVD to make it shorter, which was made in the late 80's. We like to share our work in progress projects with the community to help include them and invite their input on the various aspects of our game.

We've added various optics to the Warsaw pact faction in-game, including the 1P29, 1P78, and 1P76, increasing the amount of currently available attachments.

The 1P76 is a non-magnified red-dot sight which uses tritium illumination to allow for low-light shooting, though the lack of magnification can make it more difficult with further ranges.

We also did some work on the 1P76 lens shader, its optic also has a tritium element that makes it glow in the dark. To replicate this we use a very high dynamic range of colors which allows the scope to turn green in dimly lit areas or at night.

The 1P29 is a soviet era optic with 4x magnification, and a tritium tip. The optic was typically made for 5x45x39 but was also cammed for the SVD sniper rifle, as shown here.

The 1P29 also benefits from a 1.7m range finder, which can be used by aligning the torso to the reticle mark, as well as a tritium tip.

We're working on the 1P63 high contrast filter, to tone down the high range of colors for easier visibility.

The 1P63 reticle is designed to work in both light and dark environments and make acquiring targets easier.

We're adding suppressors into the game, the first one being the PBS-1 which was originally designed to be used on the AKM and AKMS with subsonic ammo. In-game without subsonic ammo it will be half as effective.
