0.9.0 Patch Notes

Huge content update with 12 new modules, a new enemy, performance increases, better gamepad support, other improvements and a little holiday cheer.

  • We have been doing a lot of optimization and the game should run a lot smoother

  • Most controller types like the Nintendo Switch Pro Controller are now supported

[h2]Balancing and improvements[/h2]
  • Crossbow reduced speed and range
  • Space Mines in world 3 now explode in a larger area
  • You can reroll the items in the shop up to three times for a fee.
  • New repair station model
  • Modules now align and rotate better in the build mode list
  • New, but familiar looking models for most modules
  • New Larva model to increase their visibility
  • Goo Launcher -> Toxic Launcher now creates a toxic area that deals damage.
  • New Ammo pickup model
  • Play cards in menu better reflect if the tutorial or the normal game mode will start
  • Death screen now supports “Killed by” from all damage types and not just enemies

[h2]Bug fixes[/h2]
  • Dying in swarm mode just as timer runs out will no longer warp your wreckage to the next level
  • You should no longer lose focus when navigating the menu with a gamepad
  • The pause menu and other sliding UI elements will always end up in the correct place on all frame rates
And countless other tweaks to damage values, visual effects, models, physics and more.

It’s been a while but we’ve been hard at work adding all this new cool stuff. We have tried catching any bugs in our playtests but if there are any left, please let us know in this community or on our Discord server in the #bug-reports channel.

The changes we’ve made to the module alignments and directions will break the old ship save files on the scoreboard so we have changed the starting date to today.

0.8.0 Patch Notes

[h3]New Game Mode[/h3]
  • Swarm Game mode added

  • Mini squid moves faster in idle state
  • Drone enemy moves slightly
  • Minor adjustments to many enemy idle behaviours


[h3]Comments[/h3]
As requested by many of you, we can finally introduce our new endless game mode: Swarm. Swarm mode challenges you to defend yourself from endless incoming waves of enemies while expanding and improving your ship more freely. Test out your crazy ship designs and see how long you can make it before getting overrun from the dark hostile corners of space.

Furthermore we made balancing changes to enemies and weapons and sorted out some minor bugs reported by the community. All feedback on the updates and the new game mode is highly appreciated, let us know what you think on Discord or in the Steam Community.

With the new game mode release, we will shift our focus to improving controller support and adding more ship modules on our way to the full release.

0.7.9 Patch Notes

Bugs
  • Fixed bug where warp portal would sometimes not spawn in world 3

We were finally able to reproduce this bug and found the issue that was causing the warp portal to not open. We have pushed a fix that we think solves this. If someone is still getting this problem from v.0.7.9 and onwards, please let us know!

0.7.8 Patch Notes

New!
  • Hard mode option unlocks when you finish the normal mode for the first time!
Polish
  • Hive eggs no longer spawn outside the level only to be destroyed
  • Chasers (manta rays) shoot earlier, further and have slower projectiles
  • Minor adjustment to warp portal particles
  • Loading hints should word wrap if too wide
  • More variety in world 3 enemy hit sounds
Bugs fixes
  • Snakes, and similar melee enemies can no longer hit through armor
  • Moons no longer gets pushed by modules in build mode
  • Fixed incorrect icons for switching tabs in settings (gamepad)

Hard mode will be unlocked when you finish normal mode at least once. If you finished normal mode before this update you will have to finish it again to unlock. :) Hard mode has the same rules as the Daily Challenge does except you can play it as much as you like!

Note that the localization for some languages might lag behind an update or two until we can get help with translating to all languages, we hope you can understand. If you want to help out with translations don't be afraid to ping us on our Discord Server

0.7.7 Patch Notes

Balancing
  • Increased ammo drops in world 2 and 3.
  • Added more asteroids in world 2
  • Engines and thrusters can appear in the shop
  • Oxygen limit removed from the normal game mode.
  • Oxygen limit is present from level 1-1 in the daily challenge.
  • Ship takes double damage in the daily challenge.
  • Increased T-beams cost and sell price by 1
Bug Fixes
  • Fixed bug where Snakes and Turtles in world 3 would not attack large ships

As requested by several players, the oxygen mechanic has been removed from the normal game mode. The daily challenge is played on a higher difficulty setting and will still have the oxygen mechanic. In a future update we will add the possibility to play at this higher difficulty in normal games as well.

We are also trying to make the daily challenge very special and difficult. The ship now takes double damage in the daily challenge. Let us know what you think of this change!
