Unsouled’s Development Status and Roadmap

It’s been a while since our last post, but we’re back with some important news for you. Please see below for a detailed breakdown of the current development status of Unsouled and our plans for it in the future.


[Development Status]
The main story of the game is all developed and prepared for the Early Access launch, and we are now working on 3 main features (listed below).

1. Currently Working on Boss Rush Mode

Defeating various Bosses with unique mechanisms is one of the best parts of the game. As a way to maximize the fun of boss fights, the Boss rush mode is under development and will be included in the Early Access version of the game. It will provide players with Unsouled’s signature stylish and fast-paced action.


2. Perfect Balancing & Flesh Out Story
Game balance is one of the things that Unsouled cares about the most to enhance our game experience. We are adjusting the balance between enemies and the playable character in combat, so that first-time players can start with a moderately challenging level of difficulty. The game balance will be continuously revised throughout the EA period and a final check will be done through various tests in future.
Likewise, the story of the game is being revised in a big way so that players will be fully immersed in the game itself.



3. Improve the UI/UX
When you play the game several times, the most eye-catching place is the interface related to the HP, stamina, and various souls. We are improving UI/UX in an intuitive way to make it easier to understand everything, and we welcome feedback about this during Early Access.




[Our Future Plans]

Considering our current status, we plan to follow the roadmap outlined below. The Early Access launch has been delayed a little bit, but that will allow us to deliver a more polished game at launch and make some major changes to the overall plan.

1. Run a beta test for our backers and content creators.
- Up to Chapter 3 will be playable and we plan to give access to all of our backers according to this schedule.
2. Reveal the Early Access Launch Trailer and new cover art.
3. Participate in the PLAYX4 Online Game Convention.
4. Take part in PAX Online to share Unsouled with the gaming community.

1. Launch the Early Access version on Steam and the Epic Game Store
Unsouled will be released on both the Epic Games Store as well as Steam, which will help grow our community and the Boss Rush mode will be included in the Early Access too.

2. Participate in Bitsummit (Japanese Game Convention) and the China Game Festival (Chinese Indie Game Convention).

1. Launch the 1.0 version of Unsouled on PC.
2. We’ll also do our best to release the Switch, Xbox and PS4 versions of Unsouled at or around this time.
