Happy Game Is Amanita Design's New Psychedelic Horror

We're very happy to announce Happy Game, the upcoming adventure from the creators of CHUCHEL and Botanicula, and our first actual horror game is coming to Steam and Nintendo Switch next year in spring. You can now add Happy Game to your Steam wishlist. ːchuchelsmileː

Happy Game is a psychedelic horror adventure that departs significantly from Amanita’s charming, family-friendly style. This time, players will find themselves playing as a little boy who experiences a terrible nightmare, passing through three unique worlds filled with playful tasks and puzzles. He won’t be all alone on this trip, though - there are many smiley faces to meet, adorable bunnies to slice with a guillotine greet, or an elusive football to chase. The game is directed by Czech artist, animator, and designer Jaromír Plachý, whose teams previously created Botanicula (2012) and CHUCHEL (2018).

Pilgrims Soundtrack on Steam - update

Hi all!

A few weeks ago, we released Tomáš Dvořák’s music for Pilgrims to some lovely reception, for which I’d like to thank you! But there was a little improvement to be done, which doesn’t have anything to do with the music itself.

We hadn’t realized it could become inconvenient for some of you, since it was of the main game package - for example, if you wanted to move the music files somewhere else on your computer, the entire soundtrack would always automatically re-download to the game’s folder. So to make things easier for everyone, we’ve created a standalone free product for Pilgrims Soundtrack that you can now add to your library and treat it as any other soundtrack release on Steam. MP3 and FLAC files are both included :)

Happy listening!

Creaks from Pilgrims studio is launching on Steam next week!

Hi everyone,

I am excited to finally let you know that Creaks, our latest surreal puzzler, is launching on Steam next Wednesday, July 22! Please check out the game's Steam page and add the game to your wishlist if you like what you see ːsamorost_spiritː

https://store.steampowered.com/app/956030/Creaks/

Creaks takes you on a visit to a mysterious towering mansion, inhabited by eccentric avian folk and strange creatures, which may or may not be as dangerous as they seem. In their animated form, these monsters called creaks are deadly enemies you should always keep your distance from. However, as soon as you manage to trap them under a beam of light, they transform into harmless furniture that might be just as useful when you’re solving many of the game’s elaborate puzzles. Players will meet several types of creaks in the game, and each of them behaves differently - while dogs will chase you on sight and spies will copy or mirror your movement, the jellyfish-like creatures composedly patrol the area.

Inbetween individual levels and challenges, players will get to explore the house for a series of hand-crafted paintings, some of which were carefully hidden in discoverable secret rooms. About a third of the 35 collectible pieces are playable mini-games, taking on the role of little arcade cabinets in the aesthetic of 18th and 19th-century wall art.

A game inspired by the topics of ambiguity and pareidolia - the psychological phenomenon of “seeing things” - Creaks aims to surprise players with its diverse surreal environments, hand-drawn, hand-painted, and carefully animated, as well as refined puzzles. The visual art goes hand-in-hand with music from Brighton-based composer and multi-instrumentalist Joe Acheson, aka Hidden Orchestra. He delivered an eclectic score that adaptively changes based on your progression within each of the game’s levels and often drops the beat to celebrate the moment you finally figure it out. Instruments Joe used on this soundtrack, his first-ever work for a video game, are ranging from zithers and flutes to organs and choirs to modular synthesizers.

Thank you for supporting our games! We're looking forward to hear and read what you think about Creaks. ːmuchomurkaː

Hear the music of Pilgrims

Hello! ːmuchomurkaː

We've got a little surprise for you today - the soundtrack EP with playful music from Pilgrims by Tomáš Dvořák (aka Floex) is out today and available for download with the game at no additional cost! Simply update the game and a folder with MP3 and FLAC versions of the album will appear in your Steam folder.

This soundtrack was largely shaped and influenced by the musicians who recorded their parts on various live instruments, namely:

Roman Zabelov - accordion (1,4, 6)
A. m. Almela - guitar, mandolin (2, 5)
Jakub Tengler - drums, percussions (1, 5, 6)
Jiří Javůrek - bass clarinet (2)

As usual, it was mastered by the brilliant Matouš Godík.

If you prefer streaming services over downloads, we got you covered - it's also available on Spotify, Apple Music and others! Give it a listen on your favourite platform via this link: https://lnkfi.re/PilgrimsEP

Enjoy!
