New small patch in publicbeta (v272), previous patch in main branch (v271)

[p]Hello everyone, I've released a small patch in the publicbeta branch, mainly because someone found an occasional crash involving infected stew in cooking pots. Here's the change list:[/p]
• [p]Fixes for some situations where cooks and crafters would get stuck in a repeating loop of taking and depositing items[/p]
• [p]Fix for 'Help the Wishkey Falls Militia survive the incoming bands of infected raiders' quest not finishing until the raiders bodies disappear[/p]
• [p]Fix for occasional crash when highlighting a cooking pot over a campfire with infected stew in it[/p]
• [p]When you give stuff to people for free the penalty to respect will be less if they are your allies, but more if they are looters[/p]
• [p]Updated Brazilian Portuguese, Japanese, Latin American Spanish, Spanish and Traditional Chinese translations[/p]
[p]The previous patch, v271, is now in the main branch and on XBox.[/p][p][/p]
What's this publicbeta thing?
[p]v272 will be in the "publicbeta" branch on Steam for a while, before pushing it to the main game and to XBox. If you want to try the latest features as they come out (and help test them!) it's a good idea to start using this branch. But keep in mind:[/p]
• [p] Because it's the bleeding edge it could be less stable [/p]
• [p] If you want to be able to play online co-op with someone you'll need to be on the same version as them [/p]
• [p] If you go back from the "publicbeta" branch to the main branch you may not be able to load savegames created on "publicbeta".[/p]
[p]To use publicbeta, just right-click on Survivalist: Invisible Strain in your Steam library and go to Properties, then Betas and in the drop-down select "publicbeta".[/p][p][/p]

Vietnamese translation in main branch! + new small patch in publicbeta (v271)

[p]Hey everyone, the patch with the Vietnamese translation is now available on the main branch (v270)! Thanks again to Trần Quốc Anh for the translation.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]There's also a new small patch (v271) in the publicbeta branch with some bug fixes:[/p]
• [p]Fix for Auto Gear Up mod sometimes causing a crash on starting a new game if you start with a gun[/p]
• [p]Fix for some cases where items are picked up as part of roles sometimes not being marked as such and therefore not given priority to dump when freeing up space[/p]
• [p]Fix for being able to place workbenches, forges etc facing a building or rock so there's nowhere to stand while crafting[/p]
• [p]Fix for crafter assigned to workbench/forge etc just playing their work animation wherever they happen to be if the place they are supposed to stand while crafting is blocked[/p]
• [p]Support for formulas in text of some lines in the UI, for translators[/p]
• [p]Updated Brazilian Portuguese, Czech and Traditional Chinese translations[/p]
[p][/p]
What's this publicbeta thing?
[p]v271 will be in the "publicbeta" branch on Steam for a while, before pushing it to the main game and to XBox. New patch in publicbeta with Vietnamese translation! (v269)

[p]Hello, I've released a patch into the publicbeta branch with a brand new complete Vietnamese translation! Many thanks to Trần Quốc Anh for doing that![/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]Here is the change list:[/p]
• [p]Added Vietnamese translation![/p]
• [p]Updated Brazilian Portuguese, Czech, Italian, Japanese, Latin American Spanish, Spanish and Traditional Chinese translations[/p]
• [p]Fix for achievements not being unlocked on XBox if you have a child account or something without access to multiplayer[/p]
[p]The previous patch, v268, is now in the main branch and on XBox.[/p][p][/p][p]EDIT - I've released a hotfix for a copy paste error in the Vietnamese translation for the Story Mode and Sandbox Mode descriptions when you start a new game (v270).[/p][p][/p]
What's this publicbeta thing?
[p]v269 will be in the "publicbeta" branch on Steam for a while, before pushing it to the main game and to XBox. New patch in publicbeta (v267)

[p]Hello everyone, it's time for a patch! The main thing in this one is I've added an option to the Online Co-op Settings menu called "Network Protocol". This is a bit of an experiment. The game uses the Steamworks API for networking, but Valve has made some changes since I originally implemented it and the version I've been using is apparently old and maybe due to be deprecated some day. So this option allows you to switch to their newer system. It's just a test for now to see if there are any bugs, but perhaps in future it will become the default.[/p][p][/p][p]I'm not sure if it will actually make a difference to the user experience but Valve have built something called the Steam Datagram Relay which I'm theorizing that the new system might make better use of. Or maybe they both use it in the same way. The documentation doesn't seem entirely clear on that point so I'm not sure.[/p][p][/p][p]But if you're having problems connecting to someone, or a lot of lag, it might be worth switching this to "Newer System" to see if it makes a difference. Let me know if it does, or doesn't! Thanks! (Note - in order to join a network game, all players must have this set to the same setting - you won't be able to join them otherwise).[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]Here is the rest of the change list for this patch:[/p]
• [p]Experimental option to change network protocol in Online Co-op Settings menu[/p]
• [p]Fix for Community screen closing after you set the limit on an item type[/p]
• [p]Fix for a few props and bits of land in Story Mode being owned by the wrong community[/p]
• [p]Stop compassionate members of neutral communities from rescuing people while the player is fighting, as they can get in the way[/p]
• [p]A few small speech and text fixes[/p]
• [p]Fix for crash when clicking Repair Armor on a workbench in Command Mode when you have a follower[/p]
• [p]Fix for car sounds not being affected by gameplay volume slider[/p]
• [p]Fix for crash when you hit the road with companions that was introduced in v266[/p]
• [p]Updated Brazilian Portuguese, Czech, Japanese, Latin American Spanish, Lithuanian, Spanish and Traditional Chinese translations[/p]
[p]Because of the above-mentioned crash when you hit the road with companions being introduced in v266, I won't move v266 to the main branch or XBox. So this is just a publicbeta update today.[/p][p][/p][p]EDIT - I released another small update (v268) because I realized the game wasn't providing suitable error messages when you try to join someone with different settings from you, via a Steam invite. Here's that change list:[/p]
• [p]Error message if you try to join someone via Steam invite, who is using a different Network Protocol from you[/p]
• [p]Fix for no error message showing if you join someone with mismatched story hashes via Invite[/p]
• [p]Updated Brazilian Portuguese, Japanese, Latin American Spanish and Spanish translations[/p]
[p][/p]
What's this publicbeta thing?
[p]v268 will be in the "publicbeta" branch on Steam for a while, before pushing it to the main game and to XBox. If you want to try the latest features as they come out (and help test them!) it's a good idea to start using this branch. But keep in mind:[/p]
