June 2021 Dev Update
Hey all buckyballers,

The July BETA is almost there!
While the date for the test is still yet to be announced, we’d like to share some of the latest updates the team is working on recently and the changes to the game that players can expect in the upcoming July.
New Character
Excited for the new characters? We’ll be able to see 3 new faces joining the game very soon!

All 3 characters should be revealed later this week so definitely stay tuned if you want to know more about them!
2v2
Here at SBT we’d like to offer players with a variety of experiences, that include new characters, singleplayer and of course more multiplayer game modes.

Back in February, we introduced 4v4 mode where players get to play in a team of 4 instead of traditional 3 and a lot of feedback have been received ever since.

This time around we decided to push things even further by adding 2v2 mode into the game. Unlike 4v4, the stadium size in 2v2 still remains the same as the traditional 3v3.

With less people on each team, there’ll be a lot more spaces on the map which players could play to their advantage.

At the moment, both 4v4 and 2v2 game modes are still not well optimized therefore minor issues are expected. We’re looking forward to get players to test the 2v2 and provide valuable feedback after the BETA started.
New Lobby Music
Other than extra game mode, we’ve also updated the lobby with a new set of background music! It has already become one of my favorite music so far so you should definitely check it out!
Selection Screen
In the previous testing, switching characters and swapping positions in SBT can be really complicated and confusing, especially for beginners. That’s certainly gonna change in the July BETA.

To access the selection screen, simply press the button during pre-match (before the match start), from there players can swap to empty slot or send position swap request to slot that already filled by others. For old players, the temporary slot will still remain in-game.

Not only you can swap characters and positions in the selection screen, people will also be able to check character abilities and ultimate right in the selection screen.

We believe adding the selection screen will significantly reduce the learning cost for new players and greatly improve the experiences for everyone participating in the July BETA.
General Abilities & Removal of Items In-Game
In the upcoming BETA we’ll witness a big change in the gameplay, the items will be removed from the match.

Instead, general abilities are created and players can choose one during the selection screen right before the match started. To balance the system, each general abilities will have different cooldowns times.

Out of all the general abilities, some are newly designed but most of them came directly from items. We’ve also decided to move the tackling mechanic into one of the general abilities.

Be aware that this is only a temporary change and we’d like to have players test out during the July BETA. The dev team will decide whether to make it a permanent change after the July BETA.

For those who liked items and the item mechanic, don’t worry! We’ve saved all the items in our inventory and ready to bring it back at any time. After the game has been released, we’ll likely add an item mode into the game where players can choose to play with or without items at their will.

Be sure to wishlist the game so you don't miss out when it launches and of course, download the demo later when the BETA is out!
