Best Server Time

Hi all SBT players.

Our servers in Europe and North America are currently not very populated. We are working on ways to spread the news about the games so we can find some new players for you to play with.
In the meantime, we would like to ask you to stick to the peak hours so you can have good matchmaking experiences.

The recommended play times are:

For North American Server: 7PM-10PM PT (Pacific Time)
For European Server : 8PM-11 PM CET (Central European Time)

The first alpha will be on North America server only and it would be a 3-hour test between 9PM-12AM EDT (6PM-9PM PDT) August 31st. Players outside of NA may expect latency and disconnections.

(PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING BEFORE PLAYING THE ALPHA)


How Can I Play SBT Alpha?
1. Register on our website http://en.sbt.pathea.net
2. Download the game file either through Game Jolt xxxxx or Itch.io xxxxxx. After that, extract the zip file.
3. When the server opens, click S.B.T. exe in the game file to play the game.
The server will be open from 9PM - 12AM EDT (6PM – 9PM PDT) Saturday August 31st where players could try out the test build for 3 hours.

What Region Will This Alpha Be Available For?
For this alpha we’ll using the North American server only. You can still play the game if you happened to be outside of NA region, but expect latency and potential disconnections.
We’ll roll out EU server in the next alpha test very soon so stay tuned then!

Regarding Contents In This Alpha
The purpose of this alpha is to test the gameplay and performances of the server during the game. Therefore other parts of the game including ranks and character development have yet to be added to the test. We hope you enjoy this alpha and our team are working very hard on developing new contents for players.

Bugs, Latency And Other Issues

Since this is our first alpha test, players could experience bugs, latency as well as other issues. If you encounter any issue during the game, please report on #bug-report channel within our discord server. We’d love your feedback and suggestions regarding this alpha, feel free to discuss on discord and talk to us at anytime!

After The Alpha

If you can’t play during the 3-hour alpha test, don’t worry.
We plan to run through several waves of tests before hitting early access. Follow Super Buckyball Tournament social media to stay informed!

Dev Diary - August 2019

Hi folks,

It’s been a while since we launched our coming soon page on steam, and we believe it’s about time for an update on what we’ve been doing in the last two months and the plan for the next.

The Alpha
We’re currently preparing for the Alpha, which is going to be presented to players very soon. We tested it out in our studio last week, and plan to start another test with much bigger scale from this week. Adjustments will be made based on the performances.

Sound Effects
We’re also working on the sound effects, the biggest issue we currently have is the imbalance of the volume in sound. We’re trying very hard to fixing it one by one, so that each part can sound equal and smooth.

Special Effects & Character Remake
Besides the sound part, the team is also working on enhancing the special effects, this mainly applies to character Pink and R47’s ultimate. This would not applied to Pai since we plan to redesign this character completely. His in-game aesthetics, and Pink’s as well, look pretty cartoonish, which is not what we’re looking for. The idea is to work on Pai first, and then on Pink in next month.

Character Balance
Talking about characters, we have to mention character balance. In previous versions we believed Pink was a bit too weak therefore needed some buffs. But after making her ultimate in one of our recent patches, this is not the case anymore. In fact, we’re worried that she might be overpowered and plan on a nerf. This nerf would not apply to the first alpha so give it a try when the test version is out and leave your suggestions.



New Characters & Stadium
We have 2 new characters coming to this game very soon, one for defense and one for attack. They can be expected to join the game by September. In October, we’ll finish off our brand new stadium. It’s going to be an indoor stadium with much more details and decorations than the existing one, so stay tuned.

Color Scheme
I also like to address some of the concerns and suggestions that you guys have asked on discord and reddit in the past few months. One of the main concern is the color scheme, some said it was hard to identify the opponents and the direction of attacks. I just wanted to clarify that we are not very happy about it either. Basically all the UI we are using right now are temporary and will be replaced before Early Access. The new one is already on the making and it’s gonna be very different when it comes out.

The Buckyball
There’re also people asking about the design of the ball as well as the size. What I can tell is that we have basically completed the new ball design, it’s Version 1.0 and we’ll adjust it along the way.
In terms of the ball size I think the current size of the ball is alright in relation to the size of the stadium, so there is no plan to adjust it. However, it doesn’t mean that the ball size will not be changed for at least a certain amount of time under the influences of items and environments.
