Scheduled for June 26, this update brings a brand-new event, new content, Steam achievements, QoL improvements, and bug fixes — making your Dinkum life more enjoyable than ever.[/p][p]After the preview of our official launch patch notes, we received many questions from you. [p][/p][p] [/p][h2]New Features[/h2][p][/p][h3]Night Market Event[/h3][p][/p][p]On the 19th of every season, a colorful tent will appear at the visitor's site. But it only opens its flaps after midnight, once your tiring day is over and the spooky late night sets in. Inside, you'll meet the Night Merchant, who claims to have come from the 'Depths'. (Once you've encountered them for the first time, their visit date will be marked on the calendar on the board.)[/p][p]Inside the tent, you can buy items displayed by the Night Merchant or craft decorative accessories at the Jewellery Table. The highlight of this event is the 'Mystery bag' — filled with various event items, available for purchase with Dinks. You can also buy the 'Blistering bottle', which summons a heatwave the next day, and the 'Glowing box', which plays different visuals depending on the time.[/p][p]Opening a mystery bag will grant you 3 random items from the list below.[/p]

Make your island stand out and enjoy![/p][p] [/p][p][/p][h3]Steam Achievements[/h3][p][/p][p]Steam achievements are finally here — a long-awaited feature! There are 25 quirky and creative achievements you can earn while playing. Among them are 8 entries selected from the recent community achievement contest. Time to show off your Dinkum prowess![/p][p](Some achievements are not applied retroactively — you’ll need to meet the conditions again even if they were already fulfilled.)[/p][p] [/p][p][/p][h3]New Items[/h3][p][/p]
  • [p]Added 3 new furniture / decoration items.[/p]
    • [p]Now you can place the wooden swing even in normal mode. Recipes are available through villager requests, Franklin’s shop, or blueprints.[/p]
  • [p]Added 14 new clothing / cosmetic items.[/p]
    • [p]You can obtain it through the recycling bin, the clothing store, or as gifts from villagers.[/p]
  • [p]Added 7 new accessories which can be crafted at the Jewellery table in the Night Merchant’s shop.[/p]

  • [p]Crafting stackable items now allows bulk crafting. Looks like we can go to bed a bit earlier. Hehe...[/p]
  • [p]In winter, if a Wary Mu nest was destroyed, it may now respawn on each Saturday after sleeping.[/p]
  • [p]Improved camera smoothness for character and vehicles[/p]
  • [p]Improved camera when aiming[/p]
  • [p]Improved aiming controls for controllers[/p]

  • [p]Bone Bow now fires further and charges faster[/p]
  • [p]Added Steam keyboard support when playing on Steamdeck or Big Picture Mode with a controller [/p]

  • [p](Updated on 6/26) The refresh rate setting has been changed to automatically match the user's monitor refresh rate, and the option has been removed from the settings menu[/p]

  • [p]Fixed a bug that caused “Must be Empty” message to appear when picking up empty seats and beds[/p]
  • [p]Fixed a bug that prevented the player from taking multiple photos once time had hit late[/p]
  • [p]Fixed a bug that allowed pergolas to intersect with each other, causing item loss when picked up[/p]
  • [p]Fixed a bug that prevented festoons from connecting to fences correctly[/p]
  • [p]Fixed a bug that prevented crops from being watered when it rained while in the mines or off the island[/p]
  • [p]Fixed a bug that caused projectile weapons to fire backwards when exiting aiming[/p]
  • [p]Fixed a bug that blocked certain positions in houses and guests houses from placing items on them, especially after upgrading the building[/p]
  • [p]Fixed a bug that caused item placement on certain tiles to appear on a different tile[/p]
  • [p]Fixed a bug that occasionally prevented the player from entering a certain shop located on a boat[/p]
  • [p]Fixed a bug that caused NPCs to speak over each other dialogue bubbles[/p]
  • [p]Made a change to prevent player’s dresses and skirts getting stuck in their waist[/p]
  • [p]Fixed a bug that caused a weapon to drop with 1 durability remaining[/p]
  • [p]Fixed a bug that caused furniture to “bounce” the first time when entering a house or guest house[/p]
  • [p]Fixed a bug that caused the price in the catalogue to be shown incorrectly by 1 dink[/p]

Steam Achievement System and Upcoming Updates

[p]G’day! everyone![/p][p] [/p][p]Have you been enjoying the recent full release update?
Today, we’d like to briefly update you on something many of you have been curious about — the Steam Achievement system and our upcoming update. The achievement system is a feature many players have been waiting a long time for, and we’re happy to say that it will be officially introduced in the next update alongside other new content.[/p][p][/p][p]However, due to a testing environment issue, the list of achievements will appear early in your Steam library. While you’ll be able to see the list, you won’t be able to make progress or unlock them until the update is live. To avoid any confusion, we wanted to let you know in advance.

Hot Fix Announcement - April 30

G’day! everyone!


We’ve released a hotfix to address several issues, including a bug that caused infinite loading when saving the game after playing from an older save file.

We’re continuing to work on resolving any additional bugs and known issues that have been reported, and we’ll share further updates through announcements as they become available.

  • If you are currently playing the game, you may continue without interruption. However, to experience the updated gameplay with the applied fixes, we recommend exiting the game and installing the latest update before launching it again.

[h3]Bug Fixes:[/h3]
  • Fixed a bug that would stop the game saving when loading an older save file.
  • Fixed an issue that caused the terrarium to never exceed one cocoon when filled with low value bugs.
  • Fixed an issue that occurred in Irwin’s shop when buying a Chook would cause the animal feeder to sell instead.
  • Fixed a bug that caused the player to remain wet forever after walking through an animal shower.
  • Fixed a bug that changed the new villager Mason’s hair colour when they were wearing a hat.
  • Fixed a bug that caused items to float when placed on top of the Wide Bookshelf.
  • Fixed a bug that caused birds to appear “stuck” under water.
  • Fixed a bug that let players put honey in the cocoon nest in the Bug Terrarium.
  • Fixed a bug that caused the glider in the museum to show the incorrect price.

  • Farm Animal sickness will now always last 2 days. If the animal has been sick for more than two days and the animal is not dirty on a new day, the sickness will be cured.
  • Bin Chooks(New birds) now drop a random relic when hunted or trapped

Putting a 3D, Australian spin on Stardew Valley, Dinkum has finally hit 1.0

The cozy, rural life sim formula that the likes of Animal Crossing and Stardew Valley have mastered continues to be the foundation for a steady stream of new games. All trying to tap into a more relaxing reality where fishing, farming, and flirting with your neighbors is all you have to worry about, they remain hugely popular. Dinkum, which puts an Australian spin on this core experience, has been building itself up in early access for quite some time now, but it's now finally out in 1.0.
