Greetings, Adventurers!

Celebrate Musical Instruments and Fishing when the Summer Medleyfaire returns from June 26 through July 23. Whether you visit a Summer Village for the first time or already raised your reputation with the Medleyfaire Maestro, every seasonal activity is back. Catch new seasonal items like the Maudlinbug Jar Emote and returning rewards such as the Long Swordfish Longsword Skin. You can even frame your favorite fish as housing decorations at Mount-A-Catch stations.

Perform solo or with up to 5 friends using your favorite instruments for buffs, tips, or fun. Which of the 57 unique songs will you master?

Songs are unlocked by salvaging pages hidden throughout Aeternum. Complete the Summer Medleyfaire quests for a special set of pages and starter instruments. Better instruments can be crafted through the Furnishing Trade Skill.

Prefer to perform with your feet? Show off your moves with the Dance Emote on any Summer Medleyfaire Village dance floor to earn 250 event reputation once a day.

Purchase the returning music track 'YAAHH' from the Maestro and complete a 4-star playthrough on expert mode to earn the "Guitar Hero" title. You can also perform this song 3 times a day for rewards based on your performance:

[h3]MAUDLINBUG BAIT AND THE AETERNUM STURGEON[/h3]

Play the Maudlinbug Haze song (unlocked from the Maudlinbug Quest in the Medleyfaire Questline) at Maudlinbug Swarm Hotspots to get the Maudlinbug Bait. You may have to play the song several times to receive rewards.
Use Maudlinbug Bait anywhere on the island or equip any bait at Aeternum Sturgeon Hotspots during the Summer Medleyfaire to catch Aeternum Sturgeons for event reputation and tokens. Tokens can be exchanged for rewards like housing items, instrument skins, armor skins, fishing pole skins, emotes, and more. Check out the full list below.

The cursed island of Aeternum is plagued with mystery. Join Grace for whispers of what to expect. This episode features Azoth — the source of magic and wonder. At its core, it is the life essence of the universe, an immense power capable of producing miraculous effects.

Different cultures have given Azoth various names: mana, quintessence, chi, élan vital, prana, and the fifth element. It is believed that Azoth builds and collects in various points in the universe, especially where life is abundant. But its precise origin and purpose are unknown. Earth has always been a rich repository of Azoth, and as a result, has attracted the attention of cosmic powers for millennia. Aeternum serves as a focal point for Azoth, as well as a form of refinery. Large concentrations can easily be extracted, processed, and stored throughout the Eternal Isle.

Azoth can be used in a variety of ways. It can enchant items, alter the elements, shape landscapes, instantly transport objects across great distances, and transform or even create living beings. Azoth isn’t sentient nor does it have a will of its own — it’s an unknowable energy that fosters life around it. Pure Azoth glows blue, and if not for the influence of sentient beings, would seed and magnify its surroundings into an idyllic Garden of Eden where nature exists in perfect harmony.

The substance requires psyche or will to transform reality in specific ways. For example, the Ancients sensed this energy and tapped into it to create their wonders. Azoth can also be tainted by Corruption, its power used to subjugate, corrupt, and destroy. Mastery and control of this energy source are subsequently at the center of most conflicts on Aeternum.

Join the New World: Aeternum Confidential Console Closed Beta

Greetings, Adventurers!

We’re excited to invite players on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S to the mysterious island of Aeternum for a Confidential Console Closed Beta on July 11 at 9 a.m. PT through July 17 at 9 a.m. PT. This invite-only cross-play test will let console players in North America and Europe customize a character, experiment with unique weapons, and explore vast, supernatural zones before New World: Aeternum releases on Oct. 15. Players will also have the opportunity to try end-game content.

Here’s everything you need to know ahead of the Confidential Console Closed Beta:
[h3]Will players be able to pre-download the build before the start of the Confidential Console Closed Beta?[/h3]

Players who are accepted into the beta will be able to download the build starting on July 9 at 9 a.m. PT. Note: The game servers will be in maintenance mode until the beta starts on July 11 at 9 a.m. PT.

[h3]Will PC players be able to participate in the Confidential Console Closed Beta?[/h3]

The Confidential Console Closed Beta will not be available on PC. Because console platforms are new to New World: Aeternum, we need detailed performance data that is specific to the Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 platforms. As we get closer to the October 15 launch of New World: Aeternum, there will be a testing opportunity for PC players to get their hands on the game before it launches. [h3]Will Xbox and PlayStation players be able to play together during the Confidential Console Closed Beta?[/h3]

Yes. Console to console cross-play will be available during the Confidential Console Closed Beta.

[h3]Will an online subscription for Xbox and PlayStation be required to play in the Confidential Console Closed Beta?[/h3]

Players will not need an online subscription for either platform to participate in the Confidential Console Closed Beta.

[h3]Is there any content not available during the Confidential Console Closed Beta?[/h3]

The Hive of Gorgons Raid, Leaderboards, in-game Store, and Season Pass will not be accessible during the Confidential Console Closed Beta. Players will also not be able to purchase Marks of Fortune.

[h3]Will progression from the Confidential Console Closed Beta carry over to the full release?[/h3]

No. All progression from the Confidential Console Closed Beta will be wiped prior to launch.

[h3]What languages will the Confidential Console Closed Beta be localized into?[/h3]

The Confidential Console Closed Beta will have full English text and voice overs.
All other languages will have partial localization consistent with what is in the current PC version. Full non-English language localization parity will be in the full release.

[h3]Are Confidential Console Closed Beta codes region-specific?
[/h3]For Xbox, Confidential Console Closed Beta codes can be redeemed in any region globally.
For PlayStation, Confidential Console Closed Beta codes are region-specific and can only be redeemed in the following countries:

New World Aeternum devs explain MMO relaunch as review bomb continues

It's been a tricky week for New World. The long-running MMORPG from Amazon Games is now due a relaunch in the form of New World Aeternum, which revitalizes the entire game, adds new characters and endgame material, improves combat, and delivers a litany of additional, player-requested features. It sounds promising, but the response to Aeternum has been resoundingly critical. The New World Steam page is still being review bombed, pulling the game's rating, based on recent player responses, down to 'overwhelmingly negative.' Speaking to PCGamesN at Summer Game Fest, Amazon Games explains how Aeternum is meant to transform the MMO for the better.
