Golden Treasure: The Great Green News

[p]One of the most gratifying experiences one can have as a creative is to see your creations inspire the imaginations of others. Since Golden Treasure: The Great Green was released six years ago, we have seen dozens of incredible works of art from around the world honoring our humble little game.

The time has come to share some of them with the world. This update introduces 15 brand-new works of gallery art from the Golden Treasure fan community. The relevant works will unlock once the related character or event has been encountered by the player. Old-timers who have finished the game should find them unlocked and ready for immediate viewing. We've also included director's commentary on each one.[/p][p]But that is not all! Due to various issues, the old art for a very important scene in Act 3 featuring a large gathering of Kin had to be changed, and LuciaDracon, a deeply talented artist from the Golden Treasure community, was chosen to paint the new version of the scene. The Grand Moot will now appear quite different! We'd love to hear what our longtime fans have to say about the new art. This is the first time we have changed or replaced an entire in-game painting; we don't intend to do much of that in the future, but we've wanted this scene redone for a long time, and hope you will like the new scene art. (Also, a certain Elder's rodent emissary has finally gotten its own gallery entry. Forgive us for the delay, Never-Ever!)[/p][p]On top of the new graphical assets, several bugs, including color pulse issues, animated rainfall failing to appear, and quite a few text bug fixes (mostly in the localizations, esp. Spanish) have been made. Never has there been a better time to pick it up, either for yourself or a friend who might be ready to take the journey of Life as one of the Draak-Kin. We are also very pleased to announce the Traditional Chinese update, which adds that written language to the English, Spanish, and Simplified Chinese versions. Like all of the others, it was carefully wrought, with human beings instead of machines as the translators and editors. We welcome Traditional Chinese users to the Path!

Special thanks to Leo, who spearheaded the Traditional Chinese version, and the entire localization team in China, including Scalescarver, Rednut, Ari, and others. May they, and all of you, be blessed as Earth dances on.

After many months of work, our wonderful team of translators has completed their monumental task. Golden Treasure: The Great Green, a game about life from a dragon's perspective, is now available in simplified Chinese.

Those who are new to the game will be prompted to choose a language at the beginning, while current players can switch between English, Spanish, and simplified Chinese at any time in the Settings menu.

We would like to recognize the heroic efforts of Ari, Rednut, Scalescarver, Leo, and everyone else who contributed to this effort to bring Golden Treasure to more people than ever before. Because of the poetic nature of the game, we did not even consider using a machine translation. Preserving the poetic and artistic spirit of the work would be too great a task for any AI, and a very daunting one even for a talented team of real people, but our translators and editors were up to the challenge.

A few bugs have also been fixed in the main game, leaving it cleaner than ever.

Dreaming Door Studios is pleased to announce that the Chinese-language demo for Golden Treasure: The Great Green, a game about life as a dragon in the wild, has been released! The demo can be downloaded for free here on Steam, and once installed may be played in Spanish, English, or Chinese. The demo contains hours of gameplay and is a perfect introduction to life as a mighty Draak-Kin.

The full Chinese-language version is scheduled for release later this summer. An exclusive branch containing more of the game in Chinese will be made available to influencers; feel free to contact Dreaming Door for inquiries regarding it.

Additionally, Golden Treasure: The Great Green is now 50% off in the Steam summer sale! It's our biggest sale of the year, so feel free to take advantage of it and spend less shiny things.

In other news, development on Hierophant, the first sequel to Golden Treasure: The Great Green, continues apace! The Dreaming Door Patreon recently hosted an epic fan-created alien species contest, and four fan designs were chosen to be represented in the game! We thank our wonderful Patrons for their support of all kinds, especially creative. We could not exist without you! Any kindly Kin looking to help us continue production on the sequel (and in seeing lots of cool new artwork) are encouraged to investigate.

After many months of hard work, the fully-translated Spanish language version of Golden Treasure is now available! Huge thanks go out to our tireless Spanish translator and everyone who helped test the Spanish version of the game. Language can be switched at any time via the Settings menu. We'd love to hear from any new players about their experience in the Great Green.

But we're not stopping there! Many people from around the world have voiced their desire to share Golden Treasure with their friends in other languages. Our Chinese localization is making excellent progress, and we hope to have it ready by summer.
