A big update to Celtreos!

New “Skip Stage” and “Retry Stage” Options

From the Paused screen, it is now possible to retry the current stage from the beginning (retaining score and weapons), or skip the stage entirely!

If you reach the final stage and there are still skipped stages, the game will loop back to unfinished stages until you complete them.

Updated Artwork and Animation

Several enemies, bosses, backgrounds and effects in the game now have more detailed artwork.  Also, a number of enemy ships are more animated than before.

There are also UI tweaks to the Music and Sound panels displayed from the Paused screen.

You can now skip stages or retry the current stage. Also, artwork and animation are much improved!

A big update to Celtreos!

Major Game Controller Improvements

Controller inputs no longer have any movement lag, and they have been recalibrated to have more precision and more natural speed curves.  While analog sticks are quite helpful, D-pads have also been tweaked to have two different responses when nudged in a direction vs. being held down.  Note that this is all in addition to the ways you could already manage your ship speed in the game.

Some user interface elements have been given new controller button mappings so that they are quicker to activate.

Also, the button-mapping help in the main settings screen has been fixed to show correct button labels for PS4 or PS5 controllers.

Now Available for Apple TV

The game has been ported to tvOS so that it can run on an Apple TV!

New “Zero Score” Negative Item

Careful out there, even more hazards…now the red orb with a yellow zero “0” will temporarily prevent any kind of scoring!

Updated Artwork

Several enemies, bosses, backgrounds and explosion effects in the game look noticeably better!

Now Requires macOS 10.13 or Later

Unfortunately as time moves forward, Apple makes it difficult to continue supporting older Macs so this update requires at least macOS 10.13 “High Sierra” (all previous versions can run on macOS 10.12 “Sierra”).

Better artwork, and a crazy new “zero score” hazard!

More Stage Content

A few stages have been modified significantly, such as “Space Station” and “Refinery Raid”.  There are new sections with entirely different wall layouts, as well as a few minor changes to existing sections.

Stabilized Opposing-Movement Weapons and Defenses

Improvements have been made to things that can be oriented in opposition to ship movement (weapons: “Tail Whip”, “Star Strike”, “Magnetic Mine”, “Sweeper”; defenses: “Barrier”; pods: “Prism”).  These are now stabilized so that they will continue to maintain their most recent orientation if your ship does not move a significant amount, such as when you are staying in one place.  This should make these much easier to control, more intuitive and ultimately more useful.

New 2500-Point Score Bonus

In addition to the existing 500-point and 10000-point bonus items, now there is a 2500-point middle tier.  This appears throughout various stages of the game in some areas that may be tricky to reach, and it can also appear as part of fragment bonuses.

Full Screen Button

When the game is paused, there is now a button to toggle Full Screen for convenience.  (As before, this is also possible by moving up to the window title bar or menu bar.)

Artwork and Animation Improvements

There is new background artwork for the Music and Sound panels that appear when the game is paused.  Also, other minor updates to certain animations.
