A big update to Celtreos!

New “Devastator Series” Weapon Array

Even more firepower in the game!  As always, weapons can be used either as a preset or as part of any custom arrays you have created.
  • “Devastator”: The most powerful forward attack yet!
  • “6 Way”: The missing piece to complete the set.
  • “Concentrator”: An incredibly cool special attack (consumes one “charge”) that destroys pretty much anything directly in front of your ship.
This series will be expanded further in future game updates.

5th Custom Weapon Array

You can now create yet another custom array of weapons, and it is included in the random rotation that can appear at the end of every boss fight.

“Test Mode” Improvements

There is now a lot more to shoot at when you use the “Test…” function in the Ship Editor, including a variety of blocks that require different amounts of firepower in order to destroy.

Gameplay Improvements

Some stages have been tweaked for better gameplay, such as “Planetary Approach”. Also, artwork has improved in a few places, such as certain weapons.

Obliterate enemies more quickly than ever.  In style.

Many songs have been improved, including: “Evacuation”, “Incursion”, “Navigation”, “Flow”, “Acquisition”, “Gallantry”, and “Achievement”.

Various Game Improvements

As usual, lots of visual tweaks throughout the game, including the artwork of certain enemy ships.

For users of PS5 controllers (macOS 11.3+), the correct button icons are now used.

In game settings, it is now possible to turn off Voice directly (instead of adjusting its volume to zero).

New Ship Exhaust Options

Using the ship editor you can now select one of 6 different exhausts: gray smoke (the original), yellow smoke, green smoke, white stream, red stream or blue stream!

4th Custom Weapon Array

You can now create a 4th custom weapon array that is automatically saved!  Also (as before), this is one of the weapon arrays that can appear as a power-up after every boss fight.

Various Game Improvements

Several animation effects have been improved throughout the game, along with some artwork.

There have been various minor performance optimizations, especially when using certain weapons.

The story screens at the start and end of the game now require two actions in order to skip them; the first click/button will cause a “SKIP” button to appear, and then you can click anywhere (including on the button) to skip.

A few songs in the soundtrack have also been slightly enhanced, including “Disposition”, “Acquisition”, “Gallantry” and “Perfection”.

A big update to Celtreos!

New Ship Editor

The ship-editing interface is now an entirely separate screen that has more options than before, and more-detailed ship artwork, too!

Select from 4 weapon mounts, including: default (original), high/low, front/back, and circular!  These create awesome new attacks and drastically change the behavior of certain weapons.  They also affect the “×2” and “×3” firing patterns!

New Test Stage

A test stage can now be launched directly from the new ship editor, to try out your current arrangement.  This lets you loose in a simulation full of power-ups and targets to shoot at!

New Songs

The new ship editor has distinct background music.  In addition, a new alternate stage-clear song “Perfection” is played when you achieve the highest possible shooting and time bonuses (50,000 points each).

Gameplay Improvements

Bonuses have been made more accurate.  The shooting bonus now correctly takes into account the number of enemies that actually spawn (making high bonuses possible in later stages that have few enemies, as long as you take out most of them).  The time bonus has also been tweaked to have more realistic target times for each stage.

The hit-boxes of each ship model have been tweaked further to make them tighter.  This will make the differences between each of the 7 ships more noticeable.

The new editor has more options (like custom gun mounts), and there is even a Test Stage!

A few weapons have unique sounds now, such as “Razor” and “Beam”. There are also some new sound effects for certain enemy attacks.

A number of tweaks have been made to the game, including some new enemy spawns, new effects, and even more boss abilities. There have also been additional optimizations so the game should feel even more responsive.
