Update 76: Walk the plank

Version 76 is here with a full pirate overhaul!!

  • In-game text chat
  • The cargo bay can now be accessed from strongholds
  • Backpacks can now hold an infinite number of items. After reaching a certain limit you will be slowed down.
  • The backpack limit can be increased using the upgrade station!
  • Saving the settings will now trigger a popup and a sound queue
  • Elevators now have radar icons
  • The star chart will now show seconds passing as well
  • Battlefield 1 overhaul
  • Battlefield 2 overhaul
  • Floating Islands overhaul

[h2]Bug Fixes:[/h2]
  • Multiverse adjusted the level of certain hormones in their rations as some became frantic after eating them. (non-hostile fleet will not attack randomly anymore.
  • Communication frequencies have been adjusted to avoid interferences. (receiving a call from an NPC should not softlock the game anymore)

UPDATE 75: It's time to stop

Hello everyone, V75 is here with a lot of new places to visit!

[h2]Multiplayer is disabled. The feature is rarely used and takes a lot of time to maintain, we will focus our efforts on adding content and re-enable it later[/h2]

[h2]New features:[/h2]
  • Time will not go forward when the player’s fleet is not moving
  • New colony town
  • New space station scene
  • Players can now have multiple save files
  • The second floor of the ship as well as the cargo hold now need to be restored before being usable at the start of a game.
  • New special effects for artillery cannons, missiles, laser turrets, grenades, and recruits [unit type] weapons.
  • NPCs vendors now have limited credits
  • If an item can be added to a stack the stack will now light up to simplify inventory management
  • There are now trade announcements on the news board.
  • Beating an NPC will increase your goodwill with their enemies
  • The reason for any goodwill increase or decrease with a character can be read by hovering the icon
  • Enemies can now receive backup from other forces when fighting
  • Female NPCs clothes now come in more colors

Improvements[/h2]
  • The font color of certain UIs has been changed for better readability
  • The upgrade station will now recommend players what to purchase (best choice on the top)
  • Bipedal mechs and tanks have better crosshairs
  • Companions have better ragdolls on death
  • Players can now see if a shipwreck/mining spot can be exploited at a glance
  • Clipping through the floor during ship invasions will now respawn players
  • Consumables can only be used from players’ inventory (not the cargo bay)
  • Icons are now displayed on some dialog options to explain what they do
  • All equipment and vehicle statistics are now displayed with numbers
  • And many bug fixes!

Update 74: Fly my friend

VERSION 74 IS OUT!
We pushed it as soon as possible as it fixes most issues!


MAIN FIX: The AI scaling too fast and making the game very hard. This was fixed by disabling scaling, each zone will have a set difficulty for now.


[h2]New Features:[/h2]
  • The zones on the star map have been revamped [Player’s request]
  • Added effects when increasing proficiency levels, when health is recovered, and when an upgrade is unlocked.
  • Flying can now be unlocked in the upgrade station
  • All players can ask to change zones in multiplayer
  • We have added a pick up all option for quests and fight rewards [Player’s request]
  • You can now change your name when creating a game
  • Experience will now be given for all interactions (mining, recycling, battles…)
  • New vehicle explosion effects!
  • New spaceship propulsion effects!
  • New spaceship battle effects! (Impact, lasers, explosions)
  • New tutorial tasks will be unlocked as you level up


[h2]Revised features:[/h2]
  • Revamped Weapon Proficiency System
  • Upgrades will show how much currency is needed regardless of if you can purchase it or not
  • Better inventory management
  • Revamped Medic AI logic [Support Troop], it will now use healing grenades, with a new special effect
  • Revamped Bipedal Mech [Vehicle] controls
  • Shieldmasters [Defense Troops] have been given a better shield that activates upon death
  • Revamped input settings
  • Players can now all choose to replenish the fleet’s reserves when leaving a planet [Multiplayer]


[h2]Bug fixes:[/h2]
  • The church of currency set new standards to make creating fake currency much harder. [Putting items in your cargo bay will not grant you money anymore.]
  • Multiverse corporation revamped their Gaint Mech’s AI to prevent them from stomping on your own troops. This update has been deployed.
  • Multiverse corporation fixed their fuel consumption module to avoid ships changing speeds too abruptly
  • The electromagnetic storm that gave rocks magnetic properties has stopped. [Rocks will no longer stop bullets outside of their model, hitbox readjusted

Update 73 Athena's Rise

Hello Commander!

[h2]Version 73 is here, with a new companion, a completely new main quest and more!

[h3]Additions[/h3]
  • New companion, Athena
  • Companions can now level up
  • Completely reworked main quest
  • New temporary introduction to the world
  • Anti-Aliasing options
  • New player inventory: Your character can now carry any item type in their own, separate inventory.
  • The cargo hold now functions on the same principle. Equipment and trade items are no longer separated.
  • Accepting a quest now opens a window explaining the details of the quest。
  • The upgrade station can now be opened everywhere
  • The upgrade station will now display your current wealth
  • You can now install a medical office and a prison on your ship. This will allow you to automatically heal wounded troops and hold prisoners
  • Exploding enemies will now leave appropriate remains
  • New sound effects for pems, tanks, medics, giant mecha, turrets and the bipedal mech!
  • Players in multiplayer can now watch the star chart while others are piloting
  • You can now intervene in battles to help any side you desire
  • The Upgrade Station has been revamped
  • The damage type and damage calculation of the tank turrets have been modified
  • Destroying a ship’s turret will inflict damage to the ship
  • Exploding vehicles now inflict damage to anyone nearby
  • Mining and recycling proficiency levels have been streamlined, 5 total levels, to allow for a better early game experience
  • The weapon proficiency system has a few issues, it is now inactive and is being reworked
  • You can now see other players’ health bar when dead
  • Hostile NPCs will not attack you before a certain threshold
  • Hostile NPCs will not attack more than once per in-game month


[h3]Fixes:[/h3]
  • Thanks to the efforts of the FAMAS Empire, the number of parasitic meteors is now under control.
  • The FAMAS Empire has reprimanded their zealous patrol officers who will now be much gentler.
  • The cause for perpetually burning tanks resulting from tank explosions has been discovered!
  • Certain materials used in their construction and the atmosphere of different planets did not mix well when burning! Multiverse Corp has altered its construction methods so this does not happen anymore.
  • Modified vehicles using exosuit mods are now illegal under the 56th revision of the 2nd Geneva convention. (Mods will not trigger when using vehicles)

Update 72: To prison we go!

Hello Commander!
This patch is a bit late, our apologies!
And this update is full of content! So without further ado let us dive in!

[h2]New features
[/h2]
  • Weapon proficiency system
  • New troops, the recruits!
  • Killing an enemy will create a pool of blood on the ground
  • 2 new skills:
    Orbital Beacon
    Missile Turret
  • 6 New weapon cores:
    2 SMG weapon cores
    2 Shotgun weapon cores
    2 Grenade Launcher weapon cores
  • Strongholds will send patrols to stop nearby enemies. The patrols’ strength will depend on the type of stronghold as well as their military power. Patrols and other fleets will flee opponents with a more powerful fleet.
  • Enemy fleets’ names will now appear in red
  • The alarm of your ship will now also trigger while using the captain’s chair to warn you of incoming danger.
  • When a fleet is attacked, a patrol will immediately be dispatched to deal with the assailant.
  • Fuel mechanic changes:
    The HUD will flash in yellow when under 30% fuel reserves and in red when reaching 5%, before automatically switching into eco mode.
    Players cannot switch flying modes while the fuel reserves are empty.
    Having no fuel does not leave you stranded but considerably slows you down.
  • New buffs have been added, depending on which type of food and fuel you use,
  • New types of mining and recycling spots
  • You can now open your inventory anywhere in the game
  • New keyboard shortcuts added:
    I to open the inventory
    L to open the mission log
  • When in multiplayer, players will be warned that another player is initiating a zone change and given a chance to cancel it before it happens.
  • New Shieldmaster [troop] shield effect
  • A prison system has been added, don’t get caught!
  • You can now take prisoners and trade them.
  • The game will now automatically determine the best video settings on startup
  • Multiplayer scaling has been revamped
  • Players will now lose their cargo after losing in battle
  • Pirate lairs can now only be found after their position was revealed by other pirates
  • New shooting sound effects!
  • NPCs with business info are now indicated on the map


[h2]Bug fixes[/h2]

  • Players will not spawn far from Terra anymore.
  • Ships will keep their rarity after quitting and loading.
  • The on/off tutorial setting will now save correctly
  • Negative troop numbers are now impossible
  • Enemies won’t attack players’ corpses
  • Proficiency levels now save correctly
  • Non-host players now gain proficiency as well
  • NPCs sexual orientation was not supposed to be seen and is now hidden
  • Surrendering to pirates will not softlock the game
  • Mods will now work correctly
