ORX — Tornado of Souls Update

Greetings, Kings and Queens!

The newest ORX update is finally here! Aptly named 'Tornado of Souls' the update brings: ORX Commanders, Ascensions system, Halloween event, New cards, balancing and much more!

[h3]ORX Commanders[/h3]
The orx are forever changing — growing in strength and numbers. ORX Commanders are a new breed of orx, which show up in missions and provide buffs to others and debuffs for the player. They also can grow in power — encountering the same ORX Commander back to back will unlock new abilities for him. So plan your campaign carefully!

Of course, such a menace can not be unleashed on unsuspecting players right away. So if you've only began playing ORX — no worries, you have to unlock ORX Commanders by progressing through the game before you can encounter them.

[h3]Ascensions[/h3]
If you followed our Roadmap, you know that Ascensions were planned a bit further in the future. However, while working on Hard Mode we've decided that Ascensions fit this role better — so we've combined the two into the new system!



In essence, Ascensions are difficulty modifiers — providing you with a way to tailor the difficulty of the game to your liking. Right now there are only two ascensions available and they only impact the difficulty of the game — but in the future this system will be expanded more, receiving new ascension types and affecting your final score or maybe even faction XP earn rates!

[h3]New Cards[/h3]
We’ve added a number of faction and neutral cards focused around indirect buffs and making more playstyles viable. For example, with cards like Voidwalker Guild and Memory of The Fallen you can now play Rune Guardians in a completely new way focused around units!



[h3]Dune Reavers Balancing[/h3]
We've made a big balance pass for Dune Reavers — taking a look at their cards, units and building stats and economy. Now the marauders of the sands should play better than ever and confidently stand against the orx!
*The Barracks now actually posses two charges!

Previously we’ve added more upgrade tiers for the Rune Guardians faction. This time we’re adding an extra tier to Dune Reaver cards! This change will also affect the costs and power of numerous cards.

[h3]Halloween 'Day of Doom' updates:[/h3]
  • The game will automatically switch to Pumpkin decorations in main menus and in game
  • Added special Random Event which grants special artifacts — available to all players that launch a new campaign during Halloween
  • 3 special Halloween-themed artifacts — beware, not all of them are good!

[h3]New additions:[/h3]
  • Introduction of ORX Commanders — Death Knight and Illusionist
  • Introduction of Ascensions system — spice up your campaign with 1st iteration of special modifiers.
  • New cards for Rune Guardians — explore new ways to play this faction with cards like Voidwalker Bastion and Pooling.
  • Major Dune Reavers balance update
  • Tier 3 cards upgrades for Dune Reavers
  • Changed Fire Sephiroth to provide bonus Armor Penetration instead of Damage

[h3]General optimization:[/h3]
  • New animation processing system — now the game utilizes texture atlases instead of frame-by-frame animations.
  • Under the hood improvements for Shader Animator system
  • Fog rendering optimization
  • Automatic lowering of graphic settings for low-end PCs
  • Changes to logic behind spawning and target selection for arrows
  • Optimisations to unit turning when changing direction during moving or attacking
  • Other minor under the hood performance improvements

[h3]Graphics:[/h3]
  • The king in the Main Menu now dynamically switches to represent the faction you're currently playing or played last.
  • Spawn points for orx now have a unique animation which plays during the night

[h3]UI and UX[/h3]
  • Added a tooltip when hovering over buttons with weather types during Weather Random Event selection
  • Fixed the position of Skip button on the Vault Rewards screen
  • Faction Menu now show a progress bar towards next level for the selected faction
  • Fixed Orchard zone highlighting not disappearing sometimes during card drafting
  • Adjusted maximum font size for card types
  • Centered card types when there is no icon present
  • Choosing Reset All option in Settings now keeps the settings intact
  • When placing a tile at risk of getting blocked, Confirm button will be colored red
  • Fixed previous enchant icons missing from card preview when upgrading an already enchanted card

[h3]Bug fixes:[/h3]
  • Numerous card description fixes for English version of the game
  • Fixed an issue where sometimes the game would freeze on Loading screen during Dune Reavers campaign
  • Fixed the extra vault from Magic Mancer providing Rune Guardian cards when playing as Dune Ravers
  • Fixed orx attacking with their backs turned towards the target
  • Fixed campaign not starting after a version rollback
