THE FOXLION RETURNS
Hello beautiful people it's me BOON, excited as heck to write the biggest update for Wally and the FANTASTIC PREDATORS to date!
I disappeared for months in order to learn, create, and implement in Wally one of the most gorgeous lighting systems ever. They are dynamic highlights that are created through any light source in Wally.

(You can see how the potion of mystery illuminates the surrounding area as well as your bullets)
To make this lighting system work without setting our PC on fire our we had to completely re-write foundational code for Wally which is where most of the time went.
Now the actual patch itself!
Major Change: Dungeon Events.
What are they?
After completing a floor a character or object will spawn on the floor. Events can modify rules for your run, Spawn a friendly shop where you can spend money, hearts, or other resources. Offer challenges that will make the game harder but reward you with more loot. Or help you out if you're in an emergency.
Some events will spawn randomly and others need certain conditions to be met.
List of all the events:
Balance Changes Your default gun range now has unlimited ammo. This is to prevent you from running out of ammo if you choose to do the whole run with just the default weapon you can without fear of having it replaced.
Weapons have been removed from chests and upgrades. They will only show up as a potential boss reward / special dungeon event/ or as an upgrade.
The reason behind this change is that I started noticing that when you saw EVERY gun in each run just in a different order the runs started to feel pretty similar killing the vibe of the roguelite. Seeing fewer weapons each run BUT now you can keep improving the weapon you find will create for a more diverse experience.
Enemy warnings are much larger and visible to see.
Your starting weapon has a much lower range now. You will now have to get much closer to the enemy line of fire to do damage at the beginning of runs.
You do not start with the sword. Instead, you will have access to it after defeating the Foxlion or Starting Chad's challenge.

This is very important but the potions of mystery now have bendy straws!
The Level up system has been changed.
From now on the first upgrade that you find will be a really good one, the upgrades include:
New Upgrades you can find on level one: (There are 40 to choose from so I will only list the new upgrades and a few of the other upgrades so that you can get an idea of what you'll find.)
New Upgrades added that will not show up at level one
Removed or changed upgrades

Offer challenges that will make the game harder but reward you with more loot. Or help you out if you're in an emergency.

List of all the events:

- 1. Chad
Chad is the greatest gamer who has ever existed. He only shows up in the first floor if you are successful in not taking a single point of damage. Chad recognizes talent when he sees it and offers you a nostalgic trip back to 2019, back when the game first came out and the difficulty was tough as nails. Partaking in Chad's challenge will give you early access sword as well as being able to choose 3 upgrades after killing the Foxlion 2 floors down. - 2. X marks the Spot
There is cursed treasure hidden underneath the X. But digging for it too much will trigger the curse which will evaporate all the money that you've found. Every time you dig you increase the likelyhood for the curse to trigger 4+ of the time so the first time you dig you'll get money 100% then 98% then 96% then 94% ... You'll uncover even more treasure the deeper you go how many digs can you go before you stop yourself or the curse gets you! - 3. Jimmy (The World's Greatest Nurse)
Jimmy is my IRL friend, he is the nicest person I've ever met. I sent him a text and told him to show up in your run if you are at 1/4 of a heart remaining. He totally agreed but he only gets one 5 minute break per day so he can only show up one time per run.
Now you might be asking: BOON why is your real-life friend Jimmy being included in Wally, did he bribe is way in? Does he have compromising photos of you? Well to that I say heck no! Jimmy is a trained medical professional and the best nurse there is. I am trusting your lives in the hands of the best Nurse in the world. I am certain that with Jimmy at your side you'll be able to go even further in your runs than ever before! - 4. Bomb Shop
This shop only accepts hearts as payments, the economy is in shambles and hugs are the only currency that matters anyways. - 5. BackPack Guy
Backpack guy will have a 35% of showing up if you have over 400 money on you. I heard that players were not too happy having him show up when they had no money to spend. - 6. Sad Backpack guy
This time it's the huggable variant of backpack guy. He has been modified so that now he has a 60% of giving you loot rather than 40% on the previous patch, now there is a chance he can give you bombs to break upon walls.
- 7. Salmon Sally
- Sally has collected everything that is worth getting in the ocean, and now is looking for things to collect in a dry land. She will trade you a weapon for something on you, such as a bomb, curse skips, or cash.
- 8. Slot machines may spawn asking for health or cash for payment in exchange for treasure.
- 9. 10. 11: Telly
I ran out of money and skills for pixel art so Telly the television will have to carry and do the jobs of three npcs! (don't worry having three jobs to earn a living is normal where I live) Until we can find someone to cover for them here is Telly. - 9. Bomb shop Telly
Telly will give you 10 bombs in exchange for removing the 04% of finding bombs in crates. - 10. Make the bosses tougher
Telly will give you a ton of cash but now the next boss will now start on their second phase. - 11. No rolling
Telly will give you a random fantastic reward but now you can't roll until starting the next boss fight. But in order to keep the pacing of the game fast, we will allow rolling after you complete a level.
