Languages, freely resizable & bug fixes

This update brings 4 new languages, which have been requested and translated by the community. The game can now be freely resized when not in full screen mode and various packages have been updated to latest version.

  • Upgraded to Unity version 2021.3.20

  • Updated Credits with new translator names
  • Removed some 'demo' commands that was included by mistake from the QC Console upgrade
  • Changed how sounds are played, when played rapidly. This is to try and avoid missing some sounds when things goes faaasssttt

  • Fixed bug where custom sounds from mods won't work if mod was updated while game was running
  • Fixed odd bug where rooflamps on gas station wasn't turning on and off

Developer News - March. 2023

Hey there!

Another month has past and its time for a tiny update.

It's no secret that my main focus this year is to try and add multiplayer to the game.

However I have actually also managed to do some minor changes to the current version of the game.
These are, as of writing, still only on the Experimental beta/branch, but will be out to all in the near future.

You can read about it here.

Now to status on multiplayer, which I guess the most of your are a bit more interested in.

I won't go into technical details here, but I can say that it's coming along pretty nicely so far.
As always when talking multiplayer, I cannot promise it will be in the game as I'm currently and for the next many months testing to see if it's possible.

I have tested it with a couple of the most active and dedicated mod creators for Fireworks Mania and we have already had a lot of fun, even though the game is very very basic at this point.
You can't even fire of some fireworks yet. :)

Faster map reloads and internal changes

I'm constantly trying to improve the game in various ways and as you might have seen in my latest Developer News the next big feature I'm working on in 2023-2024 is multiplayer.

DISCLAIMER: I'm doing what I can to add multiplayer, but its not a feature I can promise will be in the game, just so we all are aware of that :)

v2023.2.1 brings a lot of internal changes, due to the potential future multiplayer feature, however as they are some internal technical things you shouldn't really experience a difference.

Some of the changes however do have an direct impact on things that you will see and experience.

One of these things are how sounds are handled. On first map load there will be no real difference on the load time, but on all subsequent map reloads you should see faster load times compared to previously.

- Changed how MasterAudio and sounds in general work in the game. This should result in slightly faster loading times of maps and less MasterAudio related errors in the log
- Changed how the player is spawned at map start (changes to help support multiplayer later on)
