[p]Hello everyone,[/p][p]The recent surge of players from Indonesia has been incredible to see, but it has pushed our current infrastructure to its absolute limit.[/p][p]To be transparent with you all: our server architecture wasn't built to handle 100 times the usual load. We’ve reached a technical ceiling where we can't just add more servers to solve the problem. The current system has hit its limit, and we’ve had to make some tough calls to keep the core services from collapsing entirely.[/p][p]Our main priority right now is keeping the Plugin Store accessible, as we know how vital it is for your cities. However, to keep it running at all under this pressure, we have had to temporarily disable:[/p]

• [p]Online Mode[/p]
• [p]Plugin Store Search (including comment search)[/p]
• [p]Other non-essential Plugin Store features[/p]

[p]We are monitoring the situation closely, but please understand that these features may remain offline or intermittent until the traffic stabilizes. [p][/p][p]Back in 2019, we asked our Discord community what you wanted most. The clear second-place vote after online mode was a transportation overhaul. We’ve been working on it since 2021, and after some time in beta, it’s finally ready for everyone.[/p][p]What's inside:[/p]

• [p]Refreshed icons[/p]
• [p]Support for non-square buildings[/p]
• [p]New music tracks and a soundtrack manager to choose your favorite background music[/p]

Game data will be automatically uploaded to the cloud, allowing you to continue your cities or regions on any device running the Steam version of the game. Please let us know if you experience any issues with it. You can disable Steam Cloud in Steam's properties for TheoTown.

We are very excited to announce a major update to the game that we believe will take it to the next level, literally. After careful consideration and feedback from our players, we have decided to incorporate anime graphics into TheoTown.

Starting today, you will see new and improved anime-style graphics in place of the old pixelated ones. The new graphics are vibrant, dynamic, and will bring a whole new level of excitement to your city building experience.



As part of this update, we are also introducing a new gacha system where you can select a mayor for your city with special abilities and anime-style graphics. These mayors will come with unique skills and designs that will make your city stand out.

We are also pleased to announce that the game in the coming days will be rebranded and known officially as "TheoTown x anime". This title represents the merging of two unique worlds: the retro pixel graphics of TheoTown and the colorful, animated world of anime. Just the way you all like it!



We want to thank our amazing team of developers and our designers (Kulche) who worked tirelessly to make this happen. We also appreciate the feedback and support from our players, who helped us make this decision.

As part of this update, we have also replaced the profile pictures in the TheoTown Forum with anime avatars to match the new theme. We hope you enjoy this new update and look forward to your continued support.
