Patch 40.1

Yo! Just a few little changes/additions.

  • added a sort button to collectibles menu(this one took a lot of work) + some menu navigation improvement with a controller
  • added icons to differentiate upgrade type in collections menu
  • added a hp bar to orb enemy
  • added a small fx for when health max increases

Cavity Busters - 3 Year Anniversary!

I'm bad at remembering dates. But then it dawned on me. We've never properly celebrated the unholy union and conception of the nasty little monster that is Cavity Busters.

So today marks the first day leading up to the 3 year anniversary of the 1.0 release of Cavity Busters. March 18th! Forget Steam Spring sale! This is Cavity Busters Week! But also Steam Spring sale... Be nice Gabe.

Anyways...

To commemorate the day, I have a fun update for ya'll. It's not giant. It's a good mix of fixes and new stuff. But it adds some fun content. The new playable character is blast I think! So on to the stuff. Stuff.

[h2]New Stuff[/h2]
  • a new playable character (10 total!)
  • 17 new upgrades (317 total!)
  • a new special room encounter
  • added badges to upgrades to track if they were part of a winning run
  • added a little effect that happens during anniversary week or with a certain item
  • 6 new achievements


[h2]Fix Stuff[/h2]
  • jerks phase transition is bit faster
  • changed the layout of the collectibles screen
  • the safety window for getting hit while wall running is much more generous now and it extends when you get a wall kill
  • lowered the kill count for Slink to 15
  • fixed a bug where some text would draw behind walls
  • buffed laser heart
  • buffed footh feeth upgrade


As always with new content, if it's locked and you don't want to grind to unlock it, you can always hop into the accessibility screen to gain access to it. And the badge thing for upgrades, is super light weight but should be a fun little check list for some of you sickos.

[h2]A small request[/h2]
I also have a request. Anybody out there with fan art for CB, I'd love to see it! With your permission I'd love to compile it and make an in game viewing gallery of sorts. All proper credit will be given and links to your work can be included if you wish. We can work together on this.

I don't know why but... UPDATE! Trading Cards, Boss Rush, and Synergies!

Welcome to another update that started out as a little bug fix patch and grew into much more. This isn't a huge update by any means, but big enough to warrant a little fanfare.

[h3]Trading Cards[/h3]
Trading cards! I've always wanted to add trading cards but I had to wait for Steam to grant permission to do so. They require a game to have a certain level of community interaction. Along with trading cards, there's profile badges, profile backgrounds and emotes that are earned by collecting all the trading cards.

[h3]Boss Rush[/h3]
The new boss rush mode serves two purposes.
1. To test your mettle against the Pearly Knights with minimal upgrades.
2. There's a boss that has three different phases and you only get to fight the first two phases once in regular play. So the boss rush lets you fight all three phases. And ya know... it looks good on paper. "Boss Rush". See?

[h3]Synergies[/h3]
New Synergies! Natural occurring synergies are great. But I love synergies that grant a whole new mechanic or boost. So I added 12 more bringing the total to 31!

[h3]Tooth Caps[/h3]
Tooth Caps! These are just cosmetic but honestly, I love adding them. They're easy and fun. Love some good teeth bling.

[h3]What's Next[/h3]
Well is this the LAST update for Cavity Busters!? Who knows. It is for now. (besides the 900 updates I'll do to fix whatever this update broke) I'm working on my new game, Gum Flesh, and I need to get going on that. There's a very early demo available. Go play and wishlist!

[h2]Fixes and Tweaks:[/h2]
  • window size can now be resized (this isn't perfect, and you'll need to resize it when navigating between playing and main menu due to how the game is built)
  • adjusted a number of sound volume levels
  • obesiteeth damage got nerfed
  • fixed a bug where auto shot gums wouldn't fire correctly
  • fixed a bug where returning to the hub while in a boss fight would cause a crowned tooth to spawn
  • cracked tooth spits less
  • a number of other odds and ends

Cavity Busters Patch 38

This is a small patch to hopefully fix a crash with the Tuum Garden. This is one of those crashes that is very hard to replicate on my end. But I implemented a ton of little fail safes.

Cavity Busters 37 patch 8

Hey all! Just a small update.

If you have side buttons on your mouse, these can now be used in control binds!
Also there was a bug where control binds weren't being loaded properly. That's fixed now.

Yeah tiny.
