Cavity Busters Update 24 - Can you dig it?

Hey all! Show your teeth because they just got another upgrade! In this update I wanted to add another way to interact with the shop keeper. If your feeling mean... or poor, you can steal from So-so the shop keeper. But beware. He has a new way to interact with you. ;)

There's also a new game mode called Dig Mode. You'll start the round in a room not connected to any rooms. You'll have to dig your way to the boss and other rooms of interest. You'll need to make smart paths in order reach your destination safely. I added this new mode last night sooooo.... it may not be completely balanced. Let me know what you think of it! :)


What's New:
  • New stealing mechanic
  • New game mode: Dig Mode
  • Enemy stats / Dungeon stats can now be viewed by pressing the map check button
  • New upgrade: Thief mask


Fixed and Tweaked:
  • Buffed a few late game bosses
  • Nerfed tooth cube bosses wiggly bullet attacks
  • Nerfed rock spider alt form attack
  • Put a cap on knockback so enemies don't get blasted across the room
  • Cleaned up some clutter during combat
  • Fixed explosive diarrhea and popcorn from being able to kill you
  • Hypothermia now shoot bullets less bullets if there are more then one enemy in a room
  • Fixed obesatooth effects not being removed when the upgrade is exchanged.

Cavity Busters Upgrade 23

Hey all. How's everyone doing? This update is a lot of balancing and bug fixing but there's still plenty of new content to explore! Most exciting is the new item exchange room. Find this room and you can exchange unwanted items for something new. This costs hp because it's an invasive surgery ;)

What's New:
  • 1 new enemy
  • 29 new rooms
  • new skinny rooms!
  • 4 new achievements
  • 2 new upgrades
  • a new item exchange room



Fixes and Tweaks:
  • tweaked a few enemies alternate bullet patterns
  • increased parry chance for tongue character
  • fixed a room spawning in the wrong place on the map
  • tweaked shot gum ammo upgrades stats
  • bombs now clear enemy lasers
  • bullets and lasers are destroyed when leaving a room if a diseased is left behind
  • increased difficulty increase for breaking monumeats
  • the difficulty increase for leaving a disease increases with each level
  • health bar shakes when hp is at 1 hp
  • deflected bullets now have a high chance of going towards the enemy that shot it
  • fixed a bug where restarting a run with diseases in a room would increase difficulty, starting the game at a higher level
  • fixed a bug where bowel movements would cause environment to double
  • balanced bowel movements a bit
  • fixed a bug with tracking shot going off all weird

Update 22 hotfix

Hey there! I discovered some crashes related to level generation, navigating collected upgrades, and wall collision so this hot fix addresses those issues. Ok back to work on update 23!

Cavity Busters Update 22

Hello all! Here with a new update. This one brings more accessibility options, a new gummy and a new boss!

Accessibility Options
The new accessibility options are another step in letting players choose how they want to play. Why force players to unlock new content if that's not their thing. Especially in the roguelite genre where variety of play is a huge drawing point. So these two new options will allow you to unlock all the game modes and all the playable characters. As new modes, items and players are added, you'll need to reactivate these options.

New Gummy
The new gummy can fly! The wall running and jumping abilities are replaced with a wall smash, and a super dash. The super dash replaces the jump and allows you to activate your iframes for longer than a normal dash and activates jump upgrades. The wall smash allows you to kill wall hugger enemies and activates wall running upgrades. This gummy also starts with bullet clearing bombs replacing shot gums. Each level your bombs are refilled to your max health so use sparingly.

  • new gummy player

  • 29 new rooms
  • a new monumeat type


Fixes and Tweaks:
  • fixed bugs unique to the new big rooms like ui elements be off
  • changed big room wall art to correct art
  • rare disease room will tell you how many diseases cured
  • cleaned up stat menu a little bit
  • fixed death screen being off in big rooms
  • buffed some upgrades that fire shots off when you wall dash
  • fixed a crash in the tutorial
  • fixed a crash on level generation
  • fixed some grammar and spelling errors

Cavity Busters Update 21

Hey all! Here with another update. This update lays the foundation for some future features as well as adding some goodies. Plus the addition of BIG rooms. These will only spawn on the first area for now. Future updates will add big rooms to the other areas.

What's New:
  • the game will now track what hurts you during a run and on death will display what killed you and a bar graph of everything that hurt you
  • 33 new rooms
  • 1 new upgrade: Reconstruction Surgery
  • 1 new synergy: Thor Throat
  • updated an enemies art
  • updated a handful of enemy ai so they're a bit smarter


Fixes and Tweaks:
  • fixed a bug where Plaque Darko would escape the room
  • fixed a bug where curing mutiple diseases wouldn't unlock an item
  • fixed bug in tutorial where shot gums would repeat the reload sound
  • changed how skin tags work: now they spawn on one enemy per loop
  • poison meters no longer fill while there's important text on screen
  • fixed golden heart not doing a full hp cure when goop was higher than 100
  • crowned slomo now works properly with baby tooth.
  • updated an enemies art
  • updated a handful of enemy ai so they're a bit smarter
  • updated a few rooms that are more bullet heavy to have obstacle cover
