The time has finally come for the second My Time at Sandrock livestream, which will be on March 28, 2021, 5 pm PST (GMT-7) / March 28, 2 am CET (GMT+1) / March 28, 8 am Beijing time (GMT+8).

It’ll cover the improved combat system of My Time at Sandrock, including experimental features that aren’t even in the beta yet. The stream will once again be hosted on Youtube, Twitch, and Steam by Sarcosmic, most recognizable as our main Discord moderator!

Armed with a beefier computer this time, Sarcosmic is now ready to show off Sandrock’s beauty will in much better detail.

Sandrock now features multiple new weapon options, including more ranged weapon types. We have also implemented an exciting more hands-on aiming mechanic for guns, rather than the automatic aiming system featured in Portia.

We are currently facing a hurdle, which is that Sandrock needs to get a local rating certification required for us to be able to publish the game online. We had hoped for the license to have been issued before May, but it’s currently looking like it won’t make that date. This means that we will not be able to release Sandrock into Early Access until we have this certification.

It is not clear how long it will take for us to get the license, but we are hoping for the best and we are preparing for the launch so that when we get it, the game can be released on short notice.

Despite the upsetting news, our studio will take this as an opportunity to keep developing and polishing the game, so we can give all our players a better experience on release.

In the meanwhile, we ask for your patience and understanding while we keep at it as we keep pouring all of our love and creativity into Sandrock. Development progress is going full steam ahead.

[h2]What does this mean for Beta players? [/h2]

We know, we know, you’re eager to jump into Sandrock and start streaming and sharing memories! We’d love to share Sandrock with everyone right now, but we have to apologize and ask for your patience.

The NDA will remain in effect until further notice, and when certification is obtained, we will announce the date for Early Access. By then we will also begin to lift the NDA, allowing Beta players exclusive rights to start live-streaming and sharing screenshots and other content for at least one month before Early Access begins.

By the time Sandrock launches into Early Access, it will have more content, features, optimization, and overall fun than the Beta did, which makes for a better experience for everyone! It’ll be worth the wait. The next build is coming at the end of March, so there’s that to look forward to.

Get in gear to start crafting and exploring, for Beta Access is now upon us! Backers of the $30 Steam Beta Access Pack and up will receive their Steam key(s) via email before Beta begins. These Steam keys allow you to add My Time at Sandrock to your Steam library so that you can install the game and begin playing. Check out the How to Activate a Product on Steam guide if you don’t know how!

The game currently includes about 10+ hours of gameplay and will keep evolving as we progress in development, so remember to allow Steam to auto-update the game so that you always have the newest content and bugfixes available! Your feedback during this period is invaluable towards improving the game and making it more stable, so make your voice heard! Please send bug reports to us via [email protected], the Report a Problem subforum on Steam, or our bug report Discord channel!

[h2]Beta and Early Access[/h2]
Note that the Beta version is not the final product and glitches may occur. This is actually the most obvious advantage of beta testing: by creating a “real-world” environment for testing, underlying bugs resulting from past changes can be detected and fixed. Essentially, the beta test will be a breakthrough in the development of Sandrock and one of the keys to its success.

Please be aware that the beta version will often have changes, updates and improvements, which may destroy your saves. You perhaps have to restart the game, we know that is frustrating, and we are sorry about it. We'll try our best to keep the save files as stable as possible.

Our team will be very grateful to you for any feedback, both negative and positive, because we want to make our players' experience as simple, understandable, and enjoyable as possible. We are confident we can pinpoint the bugs that might affect Sandrock with your help.

Also, Beta Access is purely for Beta tier Kickstarter backers. The Kickstarter campaign is over and we will NOT sell any Beta keys.

Beta Access will last for about three months, after which Early Access will begin estimated in Spring 2021. If you played during Beta Access, then your game will seamlessly be updated to Early Access once it becomes available. Early Access will be open to the public to provide feedback to improve Sandrock before the final release estimated in Spring 2022. We will publish another announcement when Early Access launches.

If you missed the Kickstarter, wishlist the game on Steam now! Early Access will be your first chance to join us on our development journey before the full PC and console release in Spring 2022!

[h2]Closed Beta Non-disclosure Agreement[/h2]
ATTENTION BETA PLAYERS: please adhere to this non-disclosure agreement! This is a closed beta, meaning that all of the content you will be able to experience during Beta Access is not public and must be kept private for a certain amount of time.

DON’T SHARE ANY CONFIDENTIAL INFORMATION UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE (AROUND A FEW WEEKS BEFORE EARLY ACCESS), 2021.

“Sandrock Confidential Information” includes: screenshots; gameplay videos; livestreams; sharing existing stories, core gameplay, the current or future game presents and Beta builds, or any other information (including without limitation any technology, know-how, copyright material, patent application, test result, research study, forecast or projection) relating directly or indirectly to the Sandrock (whether or not in written form) that is or that has at any time been made available to you by or on behalf of Sandrock, including the Game, any part or content of it.
In addition to the above, Confidential Information shall also include, and the Beta Players shall help protect, other confidential and/or sensitive information that is disclosed as such in writing and marked as confidential (or with other similar designation) until further notice before early access around a few weeks before the early access. We'll make sure that you get at least one full month of exclusive rights to show off the game before the release of Early Access.

Breaking the Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) by sharing Beta content with non-Beta players can result in getting your Beta Access key(s) revoked until Early Access.

However, sharing Beta content with other Beta players is okay! We have provided Beta-exclusive channels to privately discuss and share Beta content with other Beta players on our Discord server. After the future notice has announced, these channels will become open to the rest of the server. Contact Sarcosmic#8496 with your backer number (from your Sandrock Kickstarter confirmation email or from) to get access to the channels!

[h2]Other Information[/h2]
In-game digital rewards and physical rewards will be sent out closer to Spring 2022. Please check out the previous Kickstarter Updates, if you’ve missed any. And if any of your Kickstarter backer survey answers still need to be corrected, e-mail [email protected] as soon as possible!

The next Kickstarter update won’t be for a few months, though you’ll receive Steam announcements each time that there’s a game update. Keep up with us on Discord and social media in the meantime!
