Imagine watching Larian put out an RPG as massive, impressive, and flexible as Baldur’s Gate 3, and having the license holder Hasbro say "another one of those, please!". Now, as if following in the footsteps of one of the greatest games of all time wasn’t challenging enough, that unfortunate studio may also have to contend with the wrath of one of its lead actors...

BG3 Patch 8 release date locked in for the RPG's swansong update

It is most likely the final major update to one of the greatest games ever made. It's going to add some essential features and expand its already generous offering of subclasses. It will, essentially, make an all-time great RPG the best it's ever been. I am talking, of course, about BG3 Patch 8. This update has been months in the making, but now the wait is almost over, as Larian has revealed that it'll be hitting Baldur's Gate 3 very soon.

While Baldur's Village - the Stardew Valley mod with a town full of Baldur's Gate 3 characters - recently survived an accidentally served DMCA takedown from Wizards of the Coast, it might never have gotten that far if things had played out a little differently.

It's that time again. Another ambitious Baldur's Gate 3 custom campaign mod has put out a trailer offering a taste of what its creators have been cooking. In this case, it's one modder taking on the task of developing a whole expansion to go between acts two and three of BG3's main story, and they're hoping to deliver a fully playable version 1.0 by the end of this year.
